  1. I agree. I was only commenting on a cruiser who intends to disembark the ship and hightail it to the local aerodrome for a flight back to North America.
  2. Agree with you 100% on sensationalist claims and would like to suggest that the OP's hastily formed thread title and original question are good examples of click generators.
  3. Excellent news. Not that we cruise into Naples often but eliminating that life-endangering crossing and easy access to the Metro is definitely a huge improvement in Port/City access and connection.
  4. Here is a review I posted recently... https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Hotel_Review-g32655-d7389126-Reviews-Residence_Inn_by_Marriott_Los_Angeles_LAX_Century_Boulevard-Los_Angeles_California.html
  5. Next Up X ASCENT schooner_Drinker.... our next up is Celebrity Ascent too; April 14 TA.
  6. We took Sky Princess on December 16 and Emerald Princess on December 23 out of Fort Lauderdale. Both ships were packed to the gunnels and we checked in about 1100 for each cruise. I did not not see any significant difference in the processing of pax with medallions compared to pax without except about three minutes extra to pick the medallions up.
  7. Maybe time for another phone call to Princess before any price changes go into effect?
  8. Thanks. I was simply commenting on bottled water only.
  9. That's an expensive way to purchase water if you're planning on drinking a couple of liters per day. Better to pre-purchase water through the website at less than $8 for a case of 12 half liters.
  10. If you're Ruby, you ought not have been given the 50% discount. Whether you will turn Platinum in November doesn't really figure in this. Status points/levels are adjusted after the completion of a cruise. In any event, maybe you got a deal and nothing will be 'adjusted'.
  11. Well now, there's a situation I have not (yet) encountered. With the Princess app (old and/or new) every day could be a new experience.
  12. I take the lanyard off and put it in my pocket... works like a charm.
  13. Too bad you didn't show it with a ruler/scale but I'd say the Disney holder is much too big fornthe Princess medallion.
  14. Oh, and BTW, I don't believe you need a passport to fly back to the United States, although it would obviously ease the process in the event it became necessary. @sparks1093 is a good source of information on this topic and may provide an opinion to keep the neverending debate on the boil.
  15. You need to do it through the Princess app.
  16. There is some reluctance associated with the app developer having access to the credit card information. In my view, much overblown.
  17. I would not rely on Celebrity sending you an email reminding you that Check In is open. Take a look at your cruise on the Celebrity website, it will indicate the earliest date check in is available (about five weeks prior to departure day). Make a note of that and go online to check in early so you can select the boarding window you want.
  18. I'm looking forward to trying it.... at least once!
  19. I think you're giving the app far too much credit. Given all the other, rather mundane, issues that crop up with the app, I think it is unlikely the developers have built in the intelligence to recognize situations like yours that are normally taken care of once onboard.
  20. That seems current enough; a little incentive for passengers to 'self report' if symptoms are relatively mild.
  21. It does show in your Cruise Summary/Onboard Reservatios. Here is a screen shot of a booking I have for 2025...
  22. Current pricing is $15 pppd for a single device, $40 pppd for four devices. If you only want two devices, just buy two singles.
