  1. Summer in the southern hemisphere and they are in a more easterly time zone. Sunrise in Santiago, Chile was about one hour ago local time.
  2. If you are interested in a tour, I would not recommend waiting to see what may be available upon arrival.
  3. The Solarium (adults only) is about as close as you'll get; I like it, but it is not nearly the same as Princess' Sanctuary.
  4. For sure. In the OP's situation though, there are probably some significant diminishing returns on that strategy; lengthier and more expensive taxi rides come to mind immediately.
  5. Monday and Tuesday night stays definitely have different rates compared to Fridays and Saturdays.
  6. What night was that? I looked at a Friday night in mid-April as an estimate of when a pre-cruise room would be required by the poster.
  7. Naturally... it's Apple so everything becomes more complicated/secret with the Safari browser. It's not too difficult though; consult the attached instructions to delete cookies and data for a specific website. I tried it on my wife's ipad and had no problem getting all the (substantial) Princess stuff out of there. https://www.lifewire.com/remove-cookies-and-web-history-on-ipad-4103801
  8. Except the additional tipping is not mandatory and/or fixed at 18% (or 20%) of the service charge. The superadded gratuities are a nice way for everybody to share the wealth (or divide the booty, depending on your point of view). Celebrity gets something directly for providing a service and the crew get a taste of the wealth through gratuities. Welcome to cruising 2024.
  9. You may want to do some tidying up in your browser too. Go to princess.com; click on the little figure beside the website (I tried to circle it on the attached screenshot); a Cookies and site data box should come up; click on that and choose to delete all the cookies and site data you may have accumulated.
  10. I don't think you're particularly unsure of anything here. Given all the detail you provided about how ultra low maintenance you are, I suggest you simply do nothing about additional tipping and not concern yourself with any cash envelopes made available for use.
  11. You're looking at Motel 6 and Super 8 and even those will end up over $200. I guess you'll have to be a little clearer on 'reasonable' and, maybe, loosen the purse strings.
  12. What about the P1 category - Deluxe Porthole Stateroom with Veranda?
  13. Why, exactly, is that the case and how would the published distribution of gratuties figure into whether a person should choose to remove them?
  14. Well, it seems you've accepted the 'worst case' scenario and, who knows, perhaps things will work out more favourably for you once onboard.
  15. Do you have to book the cruise through CAA to be able to take advantage of the CFAR option in the insurance coverage?
  16. Do you mean book the cruise through CAA Travel then takenthe CFAR within 72 hours of booking?
  17. You don't think you'll get 50% of what you paid rebated to you?
  18. Seems to me you've fabricated an issue to launch yet another tipping thread.
  19. You mean the 20% gratuity is payable on the $7 excess for the fancy wine (total payable $8.40)? I guess the upshot is that the OP is not liable for additional gratuities for any glasses of wine consumed anywhere on the ship as long as the price of the wine fits within the basic drink package.
  20. I think the primary issue is that the insurer (Nationwide) that offers this Princess feature is not licensed to sell insurance in BC.
  21. Sure. Share with anybody you wish to. It's about the number of devices with simultaneous wifi access; not who is on it or where on the ship the devices are living.
  22. Really? You're saying they're not all the same?
  23. Probably more. Riviera is not all that 'small' though and I wouldn't think the difference in motion would be substantial. Not having been on it.... can't tell you from direct experience.
  24. Bow and stern (forward and aft) are always going to move/pitch more than midship.
  25. I don't mind. I also pre-paid for onboard water packages and crew appreciation. I'm expecting those two items to go up in price well above the after-tax investment income I may make on what I spent on them and they're fully refundable at any rate. I'm expecting the onboard bottled water package to disappear at any time.... it's too good a deal for Princess to leave out there for those of us uninterested in other beverage packages.⁸
