>>I would rather call it a "relaxed" form of luxury. Definitely not low-end, perhaps not gaudy or overwrought, so maybe you could call that minimalist. I call it relaxed and comfortable, very comfortable.<<
I agree with Wendy's description . . .

Scott,
One thing you should consider is the difference in size between the Crystal ships and the Navigator. I probably wouldn't have mentioned this if you were talking about the Mariner or the Voyager but the Navigator is far smaller.
I have sailed on both Crystal and Regent and there are good points to each line and everyone has his/her own opinion.
And yes, for the person who asked - Scott asked a similar question on the Crystal Board.

How lucky you are - the Officers and Staff are wonderful - good at their jobs and terrific people!
Keep having fun.

DogLover,
There are still some RVL fans around . . . a group of us came to Regent when the Sun became the Prinsendam and some are still hanging around.
Ah the good old days!

I just read LadyM's review . . . so different from her blog that it's as if they were writing by two different people. . . she is of course, entitled to her opinions (notice that I used the plural) but it still seems odd to me.
I'm looking forward to being on the Voyager in August.

I took the ship's (included) tours as well in St Petersburg and never felt there were too many people on the bus. The guides we had were all very good, we never had to wait in line.
I did b2b so was in SP for a total of 5 days.
If you go on your own, you'll need a visa - if you stick to the ship's tours, you do not.

californiacruiseluvrs,
Thanks for the update. The Navigator is the ship chosen to do Regent's first World Cruise since 2011 so no transfer or sale is in the offing.
I don't remember when she was last in dry dock but an extensive one in interesting - I'm sure some bits and pieces will leak out over the next few months but your information is a good start!
Thanks . . . . Peggy

If I remember correctly, there is a page with the itinerary near to where we get off the ship - if you turn the page over, there is a list of all the Port Agent for the trip.
IMO - it should be delivered to all the cabins.

Hondorner,
Thanks for the web site!

The Crew Fund is the way to go.
And thanks to Prada Cowboy for his good information.

TDF itinerary?
J,
I stand corrected . . . . still, at least there will be a WC.

Dick,
I gave them my real address . . . I'll just delete.
Thanks . . .

Dick,
Is there a way to avoid the tour/spam issue? It's not a real big deal - deleting is clearly an option but if it's avoidable, that would be good too.

Hooray for Eileen . . . I couldn't agree more!
And some statistics:
382+540 on the Silver Sea Whisper/Spirit
(The Whisper is the ship Silver Sea used for the WC in 2015.)
462 on the Seabourn Sojourn

Bill,
Thanks for the ShipMate app! It's on my iPhone/iPad already. It really looks neat - including the on-ship cameras.
Now all I have to do is add my cruises!
Much appreciated.

I just checked both cruises on the Regent site to see cabin availability and everything is either "not available", "wait list" or "guarantee" so it looks like the ship is reasonable full.
Ah well.
An aside:I will also say that I don't always add my name to the Roll Call very early but 2 months and 3 1/2 months is not all that early.

Computerworks,
The 2 threads were posted on May 5th in the Voyager and Navigator Roll Call forums.

Thanks Kathy.
Someplace specific on Facebook? Or just "in general"?
I have to laugh - I started on the internet in the '90s and spent time on CompuServe's Travel Forum. All that stopped when AOL took over and other places opened up but occasionally - a few times a year - I check back. There are still a number of familiar names - not very many messages but familiar names.
I also read one other cruise line's forum. That one used to be quiet but has perked up recently - just as this one slowed down.
Hopefully, things will change here.

Where is everybody?
Some one else posted today saying that the activity in this forum has slowed almost to a stop. I wonder why - it is not the same for other lines.
I posted 2 threads here in May and have virtually no response. I do know people on both cruses (Voyager London-London in August and Navigator NY-Montreal Sept/Oct) but most are not CC members.
And specifically since the Navigator has been announced as the WC ship in 2017 - if people are considering this trip and have not sailed on her, a short US based cruise would be a good idea. I have no problems with her but she is different than the Mariner/Voyager.
Again . . . .Where is everybody?

I keep a list too - no way I could remember all the details - but you began on Radisson/Regent before I did!
I've never been on a new ship as early as you have but that will change as I will be on the Explorer early on.

No, I was not on the Navigator World Cruise - the Royal Viking Sun (called the Seabourn Sun at that point) was still sailing.
The first Radisson WC Cy and I were on was on the Mariner. We did start in Ft Lauderdale and in 2003, we boarded in Ft Lauderdale again and continued on.
Kathy: I stand corrected on the date the Mariner joined the fleet. I do remember that the Voyager first sailed while we were on that first (for us) Mariner trip.

A bit of history: The Navigator was the first ship to do the World Cruise for Radisson in 2002. This was either the year the Mariner joined the fleet or just before it did. The 2002 WC was on the Mariner and then in 2003 - and after that until 2011 - the trip was on the Voyager.

I'm just glad that after a number of years Regent is returning to World Cruising.

My comment about the size of the Navigator was in relation to the Crystal ships - I don't know the tonnage of any of the ships (and am too lazy to look it up). Also the number of passengers is about half on the Navigator than what it is on either Crystal ship. Very different.
These are simply facts - not preferences.
