Astro Flyer Posted January 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) The bridgecam still shows the Coral in Grand Bahamas & this ship tracking web site estimates her arrival at Port Everglades at 0945 UTC which based on the conversion chart I found would be 0445 EST. http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/shipid:371018/zoom:10 Edited January 30, 2016 by Astro Flyer
Astro Flyer Posted January 30, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2016 I found a link to a better page for the Coral & she still shows an ETA of 0445 EST to Port Everglades. http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:371018/mmsi:310376000/vessel:CORAL%20PRINCESS

Must be a delay in the webcam. Edited January 30, 2016 by Colo Cruiser

floridalover5623 Posted January 30, 2016 #9 Share Posted January 30, 2016 ETA is 0916 Not good for people who have an early flight scheduled. :( I've never see such a late arrival.

likeadisguise Posted January 30, 2016 #11 Share Posted January 30, 2016 Not good for people who have an early flight scheduled. :(I've never see such a late arrival. Isn't she coming out of drydock? There aren't any passengers who need to get off and worry about catching an earlier flight. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
chengkp75 Posted January 30, 2016 #12 Share Posted January 30, 2016 Not good for people who have an early flight scheduled. :(I've never see such a late arrival. Don't think there were too many passengers booked to go to the drydock, so I doubt many will miss their flights.
schlot Posted January 30, 2016 #13 Share Posted January 30, 2016 Lol. The passenger statement had me confused. Although it would be great to be able to watch all the work going on as a passenger in dry dock!
sunsetbeachgal Posted January 30, 2016 #14 Share Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) We are on the Coral this morning, and she is supposed to be at Pier 2! Hope the webcam is wrong or it will be a long day in Ft. Lauderdale! Edited January 30, 2016 by sunsetbeachgal

chengkp75 Posted January 30, 2016 #24 Share Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) Darn show boating captains. Lol. Wonder if he is testing controls or had to make a course correction because of traffic? This is called "boxing the compass" and is done after every drydocking. The steel in the ship has been changed (location/amount) during shipyard, so this may affect the magnetic compass. The ship will take a person onboard called the "compass adjuster", who will note the magnetic compass variation from the gyro, and from the last "boxing", and will adjust the navigator's balls (not those ones)(which are the large cast iron balls seen on each side of a compass binnacle). The ship needs to swing in a full circle. Edited January 30, 2016 by chengkp75
