Deck - 6

Cabin # - 6207

Class – 2C

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – bath

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Quiet. Cabin is over Sushi on 5, feared noise early in the morning, but we never hear a thing. Would take this cabin again

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – 2D is the class for obstructed view. I would estimate that the top of any lifeboat comes up about 2 ft or so from the floor.... so you can easily see over it. The davit... which holds the life boat does stick up a bit. Looking down, because you are part of the hump, you can see the promenade area of Deck 5.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - larger cabin... first cabin on hump

Was wind a problem? I did not notice wind at all. Thought it might be a problem because the way the cabin faces makes it more likely to catch the wind. It was not an issue for us

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? No

Any specific problems with this cabin?

Any other comments? We booked this cabin about 6 weeks prior to sailing. It was so much cheaper than other cabins we decided to give it a try. Our logic was that if it worked out, we knew that we could save again on future cabins. We have been on enough cruises that, not being able to look down to the water next to the ship... was not an issue. It was actually interesting being able to peek inside the lifeboats to see how they were set up. I am a more of a glass half full person any way. Not sure how to post photos

SHIP: SOLSTICE

CABIN #: 6241

DECK #: 6

CLASS: 2C

AREA: aft, near elevator

BED NEAR: bathroom

QUIET?: YES

BALCONY VIEW: port

BALCONY SIZE: slanted, oversized, on the hump

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Earlier posters have reported smelling smoke from the deck 5 smoking area, but we did not experience this at all on a 16-day cruise. We did occasionally smell kitchen exhaust/cooking smells but not sure where this might have come from (maybe Sushi on 5?). But we loved this cabin because it is close to elevator, quiet, has very large balcony. Tenders are visible if you down, not visible if you look straight out.

SHIP: Silhouette

CABIN #: 1544

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Aqua (A2)

AREA: Forward directly off the Forward Elevators Starboard

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Clear all the way forward

BALCONY SIZE: Normal

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: There is no overhang for these cabins from 1546 forward so there is much more sun than the cabins starting with 1548 aft which have th beam supports from the solarium and pool on Deck 12 Lido Deck above. This cabin is under the hair salon and is very quiet except frim the very occasional sound of towel carts around 7:30am. That was not a problem at all. There was no noise from the elevators and the location was excellent for the spa, fitness, solarium, relaxation room, theater, Sky Lounge. My husband loved being more forward for the first time since we could really hear the ocean while on our balcony. We have booked the same cabin on the Solstice and would book again on other S-class ships.

AREA: aft, near elevator

BED NEAR: Bathroom

Quiet? Occasionaly heard carts overhead

BALCONY VIEW: Starboard and clear

BALCONY SIZE: Normal

WIND A PROBLEM? No

SOOT A PROBLEM? No

SHIP: Equinox

CABIN #: 6305

DECK #: 6

CLASS: S1 Sky Suite

AREA: Aft, port corner

BED NEAR: Center of the cabin

QUIET?: Very

BALCONY VIEW: Great Aft balcony. Right on top of Tuscan Grill, so lip under, but no problem viewing.

BALCONY SIZE: Wrap around with two chairs, footrests, and a table big enough to eat on.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The pole is near the bed and was not a problem for us. The balcony is uncovered, so shade depends on the direction of ship orientation. I could usually sit in the shade if I wanted. There was a work crew outside a couple of afternoons. Very roomy and we loved it. We would definitely book it again.

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 7208

DECK #: 7

CLASS: 1A

AREA: On the forward hump

BED NEAR: near the bathroom & cupboard (sofa was near the balcony door)

QUIET?: Very

BALCONY VIEW: Looked over the top of lifeboats. Because the hump was rear facing, we could see the balconies down the side of the ship

BALCONY SIZE: Big and angled with 4 chairs and 1 table.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We got a lot of seaspray and salt on the balcony (but we did have 10 sea days on a 19 day itinerary). Water also pooled in the centre of the balcony and stayed wet, even on a warm (transpacific, Sydney to Hawaii) itinerary.
