Diamond Breakfast?

Recommended Posts

We haven't cruised for 18 months and this seems to be something new. Can someone explain it please?

TIA......................d

It is a dedicated section of the Main Dining Room on all ships for Diamond/Diamond Plus members. The regular menu is offered along with complementary specialty coffees.

Thanks. It doesn't sound like anything we'll take advantage of. I thought it might be something like the the repeaters party but it sounds like it's just someplace to make diamond/diamond+ cruisers feel special............

Last year on the Freedom it was a special breakfast menu on 1 morning with some of the ship's officers. This was in place of the Plat./Diamond repeaters party.

I believe that it's available on all Royal Caribbean ships now!!

Nice Diamond perk!

I guess...quite a tradeoff from CL access... Alas, next cruise we are in a Suite so I guess CL is still in the gameplan... I'd imagine that we will see more changes in upcoming weeks/months.

Is this available on the Navigator as well?

Thank you

Kathy:)

Kathy,

Yes, on the Navigator, it is held in one of the smaller rooms off the MDR. As you get off the elevator closest to the MDR, turn right. Beleive it is on the 3rd deck. There is a sign at the entrance that says something like Diamond Event or something like that. We were on the Navigator in January and had breakfast there a couple of times. It was never crowded. Maybe 10 max.

Thank you we will look for it next month.:)

The first day on our Liberty of the Seas cruise in January there was a sign outside of Chops saying "Diamond Plus and Concierge Guests Only" so we went in and had a nice table for Breakfast. Coffee and juice were served and you went to the WJ for your food. The next day and for the rest of the cruise the sign was changed and stated "Concierge Guests Only".

We had a full breakfast Diamond section on the Monarch but there was no such area on the Freedom. I guess because there is a Diamond lounge. However, the Diamond Lounge and CL only serve continental breakfast. When I asked for the D+ breakfast area on the Freedom, they looked at me like I was crazy and thought I was talking about the special D event breakfast held later in the week.

I really like the full breakfast with speciality coffee. Don't care much if it is in a special area.

The Diamond breakfast on the Radiance and Serenade was in a private room with no lines.

However, on the Mariner a few weeks ago we noticed the Diamond breakfast was just a section of the main dining room and we had to wait in line with everyone else. :( Then we were escorted to the Diamond area where we waited again to be seated.

What’s the point of having it if you have to wait like this?:confused:

Am I missing something here?

I have 2 questions, hopefully someone that has sailed the Explorer recently can answer

1 - Is it open seating in Balboa for breakfast or can you request a table for two

2 - Is Portofino dining still being offered for breakfast and lunch from WJ

DH and I are Diamond and will be in an OS

Thank you for any answers :D

Yes, I think you are..;) the time you decided to eat was busy, so everyone had to wait.

I guess you can say it would be like when you go to the CL and there is standing room only and you have to wait for a drink.........just bad timing.

We were on the Holiday sailing of the Explorer recently and I loved this breakfast choice. No more Windjammer for me!! It was wonderul. The waiters got to know you and your preferences.....they even mocked my southern accent! I thought it was a great perk for D and D+. Apparently the Suite Guests are treated in Portofino.

no worries

Lines are a fact of life no matter who you are!;)

I know lines are a fact of life. No problem there. :)

However, on the Radiance class ships it was a private venue. No waiting.

On the Mariner, we waited with everyone else who wanted breakfast.

If this is the case then what is the perk? :)

I kind of thought it meant no waiting except for other Diamonds. :o

No....there was no waiting at all on the Explorer. It was wonderful. The houres were 7-9 on port days and 8-10 on Sea days. We loved it!

That's wonderful just like the Serenade and the Radiance. :)

The Mariner (don't get me wrong I love the Mariner as it's our homeport ship) doesn't have it together for the Diamond breakfast.
