knot knormal Posted March 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2010 I know I saw somewhere there is a "special" area in the MDR for Elite members to eat breakfast. Can anyone tell me where this is located and is there a special attraction eating there vs the MDR with others? I know I can go to Michaels' for coffee and pastries, but DH likes his "big breakfast". ShadowzBtlr Posted March 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2010 I believe you are misinformed. The only Elite breakfast benefit is described in the Captains Club information is a "daily coffeehouse style breakfast" at Michael's Club. My wife & I sailed on 3 Celebrity crusies in 2009 and the Elite breakfast was as described above.
zebra36 Posted March 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 26, 2010 I believe the OP may be confused as that is what is available for D and D+(?) members on RCI ships. Celebrity has a setup for elite members as described above.
dkjretired Posted March 26, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2010 Its basically a very nice continental breakfast with waiter service...
deb18 Posted March 26, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 26, 2010 Can you take items out of MIchaels club (ie the expressos they have in the morning) and drink those with your regular breakfast?
Phxazzcruisers Posted March 26, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 26, 2010 Sorry, but if you want a big breakfast, even as elite member, you eat with everyone else in the MGR or go to the buffet. The only other choice is on the Solstice Class of ships where, if you are Aqua Class, you can eat a great breakfast in Blu. As Elite you can eat in Michael's Club, but that is, by no means, a large breakfast

Rare uktog Posted March 26, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 26, 2010 Can you take items out of MIchaels club (ie the expressos they have in the morning) and drink those with your regular breakfast? On Equinox this was not allowed, there was a junior manager at the door several days and people who had coffees or mimosas were asked to finish their drinks in the lounge. Big breakfast would be in the main dining room or up at the buffet. Michael's Club does offer more than "just pastries" though. But not the breakfast you are inquiring about. I ate in Michael's Club at least 3 or 4 times in January and every morning they had bagels, lox and cream cheese:D...they were smaller size bagels though. They did have the pastries but they also had delicious yougart parfaits with fresh fruit and granola. All sorts of juices and if you want Mimosas and/or Bloody Mary's too;) Cereals were also available and yes, those wonderful pastries too.:) But if your husband wants bacon, eggs, potatoes, etc...etc.... then ya'll need to eat breakfast at the other venues. You had a better selection than we had. We had no yogurt or granola. Just the cutest, tiniest bagels, muffins, croissants, danishes and fruit and cheeses. jackdiamond Posted March 26, 2010 #13 Share Posted March 26, 2010 I never had a problem bringing a specialty coffee to my wife in our own container. As a matter of fact the server cleaned the cup each time I presented same to him. Of course, I always presented him with a reasonable gratuity for his trouble. Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted March 26, 2010 #14 Share Posted March 26, 2010 We will be elite after our Century sailing next month, and for our Solstice cruise in May. IMHO - the ONLY way to "fly" is having breakfast delivered and set up on your balcony!! :) Tom
RichS10 Posted March 26, 2010 #15 Share Posted March 26, 2010 And don't forget if you are in Concierge Class or Suite, you have a expanded room service breakfast menu and, in addition, can generally write-in for just about anything within reason. We love breakfast on the balcony. In suites, you also hace free Expresso/Cappucino delivery to the room. Rich

Rare Lois R Posted March 26, 2010 #18 Share Posted March 26, 2010 Why would anyone opt for a "continental" breakfast over a full breakfast??? Pastries, donuts....carbs galore....I just don't get it! Because sometimes I don't want a full breakfast and I enjoy going to Michael's Club...didn't realize there is anything "to get" about it. I usually end up seeing a few of the same folks and its a nice place to have breakfast...its called having choices:)
CHEZMARYLOU Posted March 27, 2010 #19 Share Posted March 27, 2010 Why would anyone opt for a "continental" breakfast over a full breakfast??? Pastries, donuts....carbs galore....I just don't get it! Sometime I just want coffee and maybe a danish. If I go to the buffet I might eat more than I really want because it is so good. :( So, a "continental" breakfast may be just what I want. If not, I'll go for a full breakfast. Mary Lou

lb0103 Posted March 27, 2010 #22 Share Posted March 27, 2010 Another question about Michael's for breakfast. Do they have cranberry juice or grape or just OJ, this will be out first cruise with elite status so I am hoping someone can tell me. It would be nice to finally get to use the perks we have been working up to.

Cranberry, tomato and orange, you can get any of them....I don't believe I have seen grape juice...unless it is fermented and served out of a bottle:D;)
lb0103 Posted March 28, 2010 #24 Share Posted March 28, 2010 Thanks Lois, Actually the fermented kind is great too, but I do like to wait till after noon at least at home. The cranberry is my first choice anyway, a female thing.
