paulandfran Posted July 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2010 I just found out I'm PREGNANT!!! So excited!!! Anyway, I'm trying to find out which ships have nonsmoking balcony cabins. I've heard Celebrity does, are there any other lines out there that do. Thanks in advance, Francie
paul929207 Posted July 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2010 I believe that Celebrity is the only mainstream company to ban smoking in cabins and on balconies.
Krazy Kruizers Posted July 28, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 28, 2010 Nothing on HAL -- you can smoke in all cabins and out on all balconies/verandahs.

smeyer418 Posted July 28, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 28, 2010 Oceania is also no smoking in rooms and balcony.
kelmac Posted July 28, 2010 #6 Share Posted July 28, 2010 Try Celebrity, Azamara or Oceania! All of these lines have a more progressive smoking policy and have banned smoking in cabins, balconies and most areas of the ship. Good Luck and Enjoy! PrincessE Posted July 28, 2010 #12 Share Posted July 28, 2010 We're avid Princess cruisers and they allow smoking on their balconies. The way we get around this is we book our balcony as far forward as possible. That way we don't get much in the way of smoke blowing back towards us. We've never had an issue with smokers. People are generally respectful of those sitting outside. My sister once had a problem with her neighbors. They were smoking all the time and she couldn't enjoy her balcony. She knocked on their door, told them the issue, they apologized and said they'd only smoke during certain periods. Worked out great. Have fun and congratulations! KathieKata Posted July 30, 2010 #17 Share Posted July 30, 2010 After reading the posted site for Smoking on ships I see it would be best to get a cabin as far forward and on the starboard side of the ship. All these things to think of just to avoid annoying smoke while on a cruise.
alexandra cruiser Posted August 30, 2010 #18 Share Posted August 30, 2010 Sure wish I d found this thread before,,,but will keep it handy to avoid a mess with upcoming Seabourn criuise....booked before I knew they allowed smoking in cabin and balcony,,,real dealbreaker..will now stick to other cruiselines...;)
griffy116 Posted August 30, 2010 #19 Share Posted August 30, 2010 For the last few years, RCCL has been "no smoking in cabins"...You can only smoke on the balconies and I'm pretty sure those are "aired out" frequently. I smoke, and I'm only allowed to smoke on the balcony. I guess if you are in port, the smoke might drift, but otherwise, when the ship is moving, so is the smoke outside.
