Recent cruisers, is the NFL on MUTS on the Crown?

I don't want to get into the debate of whether they should show the NFL on MUTS again.

 

But for those that have been on the Crown recently, did they show the NFL on MUTS?

 

We were on the Ruby a few weeks ago and they didn't show any NFL. They gave some lame excuse about only getting ESPN but they didn't even show THAT game on MUTS. Every other cruise I have been on during football season has shown the Sunday games. My guess is that it was the first cruise after the transatlantic and they hadn't set it up yet.

 

We have a sea day on Sunday and want to see the games while sitting in the sun.

Good Question! I will be on the same cruise and I just assumed with all the prior posts that football would be a definite.

If Princess had a 'real US style sports bar' on the ship...I

know a few people who would trade their fly/drive,November/December,

Las Vegas casino NFL vacations for a family cruise...

 

Let us know if things improved.

I was on the Crown last week. They showed NFL Sunday afternoon. Don't know about the Monday night game.

 

When we were on the Crown in October, the baseball playoffs took over the MUTS pretty much on a nightly basis so I can say it is more likely than not the football will air. The crew is also into sports so keeps you informed even during a game show activity in Club Fusion.

I do not know about Rose Bowl because that is a college game, there were no college games on my 14 day cruise. They did play Sunday Night Football as well as Monday Night Football. Also they did show all the World Series baseball games then played a movie after that.

I am wodering if they will show NFL playoff games in January.

I was completely blown away when there was no NFL on the Ruby. Every time I sailed during football season I got to watch it.

 

Now it didn't ruin my cruise, mind you! :cool:

 

That seems to have changed...they had it on Ruby last week on our sailing. We sat under the stars watching Dallas get spanked :)

Its totally up to the cruise director,last year on the Ruby we saw one game and the cd LISA Ball received some complaints from people who wanted to sleep instead so even though the patters said the games would be on she changed it to a video of the waves, deck was empty everyone crowded into the conference room to watch game such a disappointment. I spoke to personally and she said tooo bad so sad .

Maybe not, but I think watching the die hard fans, watching the game can be amusing.:)

 

More amusing, surely, than having the play-by-play of something you couldn't care less about blaring out while you're trying to relax by the pool or have an over-lunch conversation at one of the outdoor tables.

Regardless of what's playing, it's going to be blaring if you chose that location to relax or eat. So let's not come down on football fans ok?

I am not a sports fan but there were lots of people in the cold watching the big screen on our cruise. There are 3 pools and you can't hear the big screen from the other two so there is plenty of room for everyone. I felt sorry for those sports fans shivering in the cold. We were coming down from Canada in October so it was cold.

Just to throw it out there, but not everyone cares to watch football.....

Not everyone cares to watch Toy Story, either, but that doesn't stop Princess from inflicting it upon us. I say football is definitely the lesser of two evils (not that I think football is evil -- unless it's Dallas playing, of course).
