Hoyaheel Posted December 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2010 This is not gender specific - many women get the same bumps after waxing. You can buy a product like "BIkini Zone". I make my own treatment product from glycerin, warm water and crushed aspirin. If it's painful, use neosporin or other cream with pain killer in it. I know it won't help this time, but in the future - I always wax at least 3-4 days in advance.....

cb at sea Posted December 28, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 28, 2010 Once the hair starts growing back in (and it will!!!), the bumps will subside. Don't do it again! Bumps and stubbly hair are worse than the "full coat"!
bluzchick Posted December 29, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted December 29, 2010 I smeared hydrocortisone cream all over his back last night, along with tea tree oil before bed...and Benedryl...better but still very gross looking :( No Tend Skin at our local pharmacy or stores(small town here)
6rugrats Posted December 29, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2010 I assume he went somewhere and had this done? He should call his waxer and ask for advice. Try applying Neosporin in the meantime as these bumps are prone to infection. Don't use soap on the area, or any other irritant.
sjb317 Posted December 29, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2010 The first time my husband had his back waxed, the cosmotologist told him to apply a thin layer of hydrocortisone cream on his back to minimize the red bumps. He did have a few minor ones, but they disappeared within a day or two. No problems since and he usually gets his back done before a cruise. Hopefully, it gets better soon! I found an item on amazon dot com called a mangroomer which works great (no bumps), costs about $40 and can be used over & over.
