Half Moon Cay - Questions

So I read somewhere that food and non-alcoholic beverages on Half Moon Cay is free. Is this the case?

 

Also, are there souvenir shops on HMC? And since HMC is Carnival's private island, does that mean the Sail and Sign card works for everything, or is cash required?

Some beverages are free. Any you pay for on the ship, you pay for on HMC. Food is free.

 

Some trinkets are chargable back to the ship. I understand some venders want cash or credit card.

 

HMC is owned by Holland America, not Carnival.

Whatever is included on the ship, is included on HMC....consider it a "sea day"...but on land. It's INCLUDED in your fare (nothing is "free"!) Whatever you'd pay for on the ship, you'll pay for on the island.

Subsidaries can and do own stuff that isn't owned by the corporate owner. Plus, HAL bought HMC before Carnival Corp took them over. You might note the fact HAL is based in Seattle, but Carnival is not.

This must be the work of HAL then if they own HMC as you say.

 

When a Corporation is acquired by another all assets as well as obligations are absorbed by said Corporation.
