babygirl722 Posted January 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Actually, the question really is, should dine 2 nights in the Tamarind or 1 night in each on our upcoming Eurodam cruise? Thanks for your help!
sail7seas Posted January 27, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Having cruised Eurodam five cruises, from my personal experience, we would go to each. We love Tamarind and have had wonderful dinners in Eurodam's Pinnacle. If you can, why not try them both? :)
ICUQT Posted January 27, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Just got off the Nieuw Amsterdam on 1/23 and did Tamarind, Pinnacle and Canaleto (SP). All three offer a different dinning experience. I was not disappointed with the food selection or the wait staff. I have done Pinnacle several times on other ships same good quality and service and tried the other two resturants for the first time. If you have never tried one or the other I would say split and do the one and one. Either way I do not think you will be disappointed. bob
catl331 Posted January 27, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Remember that you can eat in the PG on 15 ships, but in the Tamarind on just two. :) I'd say try the Tamarind first and then decide if you want to back.
babygirl722 Posted January 27, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted January 27, 2011 That's exactly what my husband said. I've read so many wonderful reviews about the Tamarind and very mixed reviews on the Pinnacle. I may just take your advice and do both. Otherwise, how will I know? Such problems...lol
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 27, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Since the Pinnacle is available on ships -- my choice would be the Tamarind since it is offered only on 2 ships. On our recent Nieuw Amsterdam cruises we chose to dine at the Tamarind more than the Pinnacle.
Rare kazu Posted January 27, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 27, 2011 On the NA we did a Tamarind first, Pinnacle and liked the Tamarind so much we went back. Definitely book it first, but give the PG a try. They are two totally different experiences and foods. You may well prefer one over the other but you won't know unless you try them both.:) Have a great cruise :)
michmike Posted January 27, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 27, 2011 we were on NA 2 weeks ago. Have had so so experiences the last 2 times in Pinnacle on other ships. Found our Tamarind experience to be far superior to those in the Pinnacle on those ships. Didn't try Pinnacle on this trip. Just avoid the fortune cookie dessert. Nothing special. I had the first one listed (something w/ ginger and chocolate?) was quite good.
COLLEYBERRY Posted January 27, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 27, 2011 I have enjoyed breakfasts in the Pinnacle..dinner not so much. The Tamarind...I would happily cruise in a circle to dine in this restaurant,:D H:)ppy Sailing.
janmcn Posted January 27, 2011 #10 Share Posted January 27, 2011 I'd visit both...we LOVED the Tamarind though on the E'dam...but both have excellent food...just different. (HUGE amounts in the T! I could have done with just the huge shrimp and the egg roll...)
Typhoon1 Posted January 28, 2011 #11 Share Posted January 28, 2011 Dinner in the PG, try lunch in Tamarind, it's free. If you find it to your liking, go back for dinner. The dinner menu is much more extensive.
Willsot Posted January 28, 2011 #12 Share Posted January 28, 2011 On the Eurodam twice and for both cruises ate one lunch and one dinner in the Tamarind, on one cruise dinner in the Pinnacle. Food was great both places, but we loved the service in the Tamarind.
RuthC Posted January 28, 2011 #13 Share Posted January 28, 2011 Another vote for both. Each is a different, but excellent, experience. If you have never tried the Pinnacle, don't pass up the chance. Tamarind has gotten consistently good reviews. I can't recall reading of one less than ideal experience.
ybarber Posted January 28, 2011 #14 Share Posted January 28, 2011 Does anyone know where I can find a lunch/dinner menu for Tamarind? I am not a big Asian food person, will I still like it? Thanks!

CLICK HERE for the dinner menu. CLICK HERE for the lunch menu. If you can't find anything else that strikes your fancy for dinner, I suggest that you ask for the Wasabi and Soy Beef Tenderloin without the wasabi. diamondgirl54 Posted January 28, 2011 #19 Share Posted January 28, 2011 Sailed on the Eurodam Jan 15th. We dined at both the Pinnacle and Tamarind. Without question Tamarind is the best. Actually we had a terrible experience at the Pinnacle. The food was terrible and the service was even worse. I wouldn't dine at the Pinnacle if they paid me. Thanks for your help! Tamarind is truly wonderful! I can't wait until we're on the NA in just a couple of weeks! krusin' Posted January 29, 2011 #21 Share Posted January 29, 2011 Sailed on the Eurodam Jan 15th. We dined at both the Pinnacle and Tamarind. Without question Tamarind is the best. Actually we had a terrible experience at the Pinnacle. The food was terrible and the service was even worse. I wouldn't dine at the Pinnacle if they paid me. My feelings exactly. Our recent experience in the Noordam Pinnacle was a disaster. All 4 of us being given dinner and wine free did not cover our disapointment!:( The tamarand on the Eurodam was fantastic! MarylandBob Posted January 29, 2011 #23 Share Posted January 29, 2011 Tamarind is too "foofoo" Asian for me. Give me some gool ole Kung Pao Chicken or Hunan Shrimp. When I want to eat, I want to eat; not go to a museum where the food is pretty but tastes like...
