pizza delivery question

In the room service menu on the "Room Service Pizza" page, it says at the bottom "A nominal service charge of $3.00 per delivery will be applied to your shipboard account." This is the last page in the "food delivery" section -- does the $3.00 service charge apply just to Pizza? or is it for all room service deliveries?

 

If it's just for the Pizza, do you tip on top of that?

It is just for pizza.

 

Everything else (except for party platters) is complimentary.

 

IMO - the $3 includes the tip, though on our last trip we did tip extra.

The delievery charge is only for pizza. In days gone by, they did not deliver pizza. When they introduced pizza delivery, it came with the $3 charge.

I think the deal behind the Pizza delivery charge is that somebody has to make a special trip to the Pizza place on the Lido to pick it up; the rest of room service comes out of the central kitchens.

I don't want the pizza unless it is from the true pizza ovens on the lido deck. So this is a very important question.

That really makes sense, could you imagine what type of cleaning the rooms would need if spring breakers and also drunk "party hardy" adults had pizza parties in their rooms all the time:eek:.

While I don't mind and understand the $3.00 charge I hate that the room service delivery is only during the on deck service hours. When I want the room service pizza its really a late nightr snack, during the day its easy to stop by on the pool deck.

I just go up and get a bunch of slices and bring them back and enjoy them in my cabin or if im lucky, on my balcony. Four more weeks.. then here i come!!

I was on the Sapphire a few weeks ago, and my aunts ordered pizza from room service. It was delicious! It tasted just like the lido deck pizza, so I highly doubt it came frozen from the kitchen. :D

Room service pizza is definately made on the Lido. I've seen them picking it up for delivery.

I was told the same thing. They said that it was to discourage people ordering pizza after pizza, eating one slice and letting the rest go to waste.

The pizza onboard Princess is the best. We also like Carnival.

You should give an extra $1 on that $3 Pizza charge for room service. And, we were told by the Hotel Manager that there is no such thing as "frozen pizza" onboard a Princess ship.

We ordered room service pizza on our last cruise and it was super! It seemed to be the same as on Lido deck. Yum-o!

It's only available during the hours the pizzaria is open...generally from about 11:00am - 11:00pm. As I recall, the $3 fee is per order & not per pizza. :)
