Are you as excited as I am?

I will be going to my first cruise with Royal Caribbean International Freedom of the Seas August 7, 2011(Western Caribbean) and I cannot wait. All I do is think about it and log in to this site daily to read the information because I want to make sure that I am aware of everything. I also tend to look at pictures threads and I go to youtube to look for videos lol.

 

On a scale of 1-10 of excitement...I am 100000000000000000000000000000000000. I just want to know if I am the only one that feels this way? We haven't gone to our first cruise yet and my sister and I are already planning other ones lol.

 

So am I crazy or do you guys do the same?:D

I still get excited before a cruise. They really are that great of a vacation.

I get excited before ANY vacation...whether it's a cruise or a car trip or a flight....whatever!

Enjoy the anticipation...the actual vacation will be over before you know it!

I am sooooooooooo excited to be going on my first cruise too!!! I can't wait, but do agree I am excited on any trip I go on! I've had this trip booked for almost a year and now I have a month and a half left! The anticipation is relentless!!! Reading these boards on a daily basis magnfies it by a million! I hope your 1st is magical!!!:D

I am so excited and this is my 5th cruise. So can't decide if I am hopeless or if that is just the way of things. :p

 

Each cruise has been different. This cruise is my first repeat of a location. But this time my BFF and her DH (1st timers) are also going on the cruise. We are also going to Glacier Bay and Ketchikan for the first time.

 

I don't think that I will ever get "over" the excitement of planning a cruise.

I also get excited for any vacation that I take, I travel by plane a lot but since this is going to be a different experience and I will be going to 4 different countries I am going crazy.

 

I never knew that cruising was that addictive.

We will be Diamond on RCCL at the end of our July cruise. We are as excited as the first time!!! We literally have a countdown clock and we watch the days clicking away....ever so slowly. We can't wait to pack, can't wait to see the ship sitting in the harbor, can't wait to get in line to check-in, can't wait to get to the Windjammer, can't wait for crazy things like paying the final payment and the lifejacket drill!!!! I'm on this board just about every day.......You are NOT alone!!!

My wife and I booked our first cruise last February for an April sailing, and it seemed like forever. On a scale of 1 to 10, our excitement was about where yours is.

 

This year instead of sailing in April we have to wait until November so instead of 2 month's worth of anticipation we have 9.

There's the only benefit to booking later! We only booked a month ago & leave in 7 days! :D So glad to hear some of the more frequent cruisers still get as excited many sailings down the list! Back to fine tuning the packing list! Here's to losing our sanity the fun way! :p

Welcome to the wonderful world of cruise planning. There are many of us out here that share you particular malady. We use countdown clocks and many lists to get ready and it still does not make the anticipation go away. Be it the first or 101st, we just can't help ourselves. The closer it gets, the more excited we become. Roll calls and last minute tips are our way of life. Welcome to the madness:D

@ Fungo LOL funny thing is we should had been cruising May 29th but we changed it to August 7 so instead of waiting 3 months, we now have 6 months left. I know how that feels is making me go crazy now.

I am glad that I am part of this cruising world, I feel like I am going to like cruising better than traveling by plane. I also come in here to check my clock that is in my siggy lol it seems that the days are not moving fast enough. Glad to see that a lot of you feel this way even if is not your first cruise.

I think its the worst when you see a cruise commercial come on the television. it may not even be for your cruiseline but the thought of just sitting on a grand ship by the pool, in the library, in the casino, anywhere

My fiance and I haven't even booked our honeymoon cruise (it will be firsts for both of us!) in June 2012 but we're already excited! I find myself checking the boards here a few times a day to make sure I'm not missing anything. This very well could be a new favorite hobby of mine, haha.

I too am at the level of excitement you are at for your cruise. I too will be going on my first cruise on Freedom of the Seas and my cruise begins on March 6, 2011. It is getting so close I can hardly stand it. I literally can't wait I am so excited! I booked this cruise with some friend in October and I have been researching cruises and tips and everything in between. I even have my bags pretty well packed and ready to go. Is that crazy? I just keep adding to my bags as I come up with new things I need that I read online. I JUST CAN'T WAIT!!

My husband and I got back from our first cruise on January 29th. I was a mad woman for the two months in between the time we booked and the day we left. I read everything I could read on these boards. It was FABULOUS. We went on the Carnival Dream and it was more than I hoped for. The group that we went with goes on a cruise every year and last night I got the call about next years cruise. The check is going in the mail this weekend for our deposit. Like I said, you will have a fabulous time, and you will be addicted. Have a blast!!!!!:)

We must be related because I am doing the same thing. I am going on my first cruise in April and I am sooooooooo excited. I read these boards everyday, I have also looked at picture threads and watched you tube videos. I am now day dreaming about my trip at work and I have been asking my co worker, who went on the same cruise last year, questions everyday. I think I am going to lose friends soon because I keep talking about the cruise. I am really excited. I am happy to know that there is someone else like me in the world.
