xtianmom Posted May 28, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2011 I was just wondering if a portable cabana would be worth taking on our Southern Caribbean cruise? It would be a pop-up. We do have to fly, so I have to consider how to pack it. I am very fair skinned and we do hope to do some snorkeling and beach lounging. Never seen this mentioned before, maybe it's not something people ever do.
old bones Posted May 28, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2011 if you want to haul it around go for it. otherwise rent a umbrella on the beach.
Nebr.cruiser Posted May 28, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2011 Definitely not worth it to me, most beaches do have umbrellas or cabanas you can rent. I try to keep what I lug along to a minimum, but everyone has their own comfort level and needs.
Colorado Kat Posted May 28, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2011 I think it sounds like more trouble than it's worth. Slather on the sunscreen, and you can probably use/rent an unbrella most places. Bring a hat.
Rare Keith1010 Posted May 28, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 28, 2011 If it was me I wouldn't take it as it seems like more trouble than it is worth. Keith
isujim Posted May 28, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 28, 2011 I don't think I would bother with it. Most beaches you can get an umbrella although they may charge you for its use during the day. Sure beats hauling it around.
Krazy Kruizers Posted May 28, 2011 #7 Share Posted May 28, 2011 Since you have to fly -- not worth the extra pounds in your suitcase. Rent an umbrella at the beaches.
Happy ks Posted May 28, 2011 #8 Share Posted May 28, 2011 I'd not bother with it. Adding the weight/taking up space sounds right up there with packing pop up hampers and over the door shoe holders. Leave your packing space for things you really need...only the necessities. Do take plenty of sunscreen and a hat :)
cb at sea Posted May 28, 2011 #9 Share Posted May 28, 2011 Rent an umbrella or sit under a tree....don't lug anymore stuff than needed!
xtianmom Posted May 28, 2011 Author #10 Share Posted May 28, 2011 Guess that was a lame idea. That's what happens when you spend too much time thinking about your cruise and how to make it perfect. I agree with you all and won't bother. I appreciate your responses.
