Bed placements Oasis/Allure

Thanks Steve. I am considering a JS too... just having trouble getting over the price difference! I heard that they won't let you book a Family stateroom unless you have 5 ppl... gah.

That is correct.....unless it's close to sail date and they have some not sold...then they will release them....also consider connecting cabins...if it's 4 of you it's probably a less expensive alternative to a JS.

Have you tried to mock book 2 cabins for your family, one inside across from the balcony? When I booked Allure, I booked a BW Balcony across from an OV Balcony, and got a price. Then I tried putting all 4 of us in the OVB, and got a price. Because the catagory of OVB you have to take for 4 was more money, and the prices for 3 rd and 4 th were not much lower than the price for 1 st and 2nd BWB pax- there was less than a couple of hundred dollars difference! ( of course because of our diamond discounts being applied to 2 cabins vs just 1; double the discount for 2 cabins, it was a no brainer to put the kids in their own cabin.)

Don't know if this could work for you; kids ages etc, but it's worth a try!

I tried to figure the bed placement by myself for Allure CP balcony 11639. However, I am a gal who might cry if I have to make a 2-sided copy, so you two have made my day.

The cabin is a balcony. The two sided copy is a whole other issue!:D

  • 5 weeks later...

Forgot this thread existed so I thought I would also post my recent question here as well as well. I recently switched our cabin on the Oasis from D7 (9692) to D5 (9590). The increase was only $10 and it appeared that it might have a larger balcony as it is the beginning of the hump. Has anyone stayed in this cabin that could tell me if the bed is by the balcony or the closet and if in fact the balcony is a little larger? Thanks for any information you might have! Only 78 more days!!!!

In all honesty...I am not sure why so many people make a big deal of wanting the bed by the slider...I have stayed in both floor plans....pluses and minus to each. I have even stayed in a cabin with the bed by the closet with the beds separated and had no issue accessing the closet...just get the side table out of the way...tuck it under the bed;) In reality the floor-plan with the bed by the closet opens the balcony up much more to the cabin....the bed by the sliders makes it more removed feeling. In any case both floor plans are fine...and I myself have come to like the bed by the closet even a bit better as of late.

I agree. Last summer on Allure the bed was by balcony. On Oasis this summer we knew going in that bed was by closet and I was concerned based on all I had read. Turns out it was a complete non-factor. Now have Allure booked for next summer not knowing or caring where bed is (as long as it's in the cabin).

I hope this is right. I put this together after readiing all of the above.

(On Floors 8, 9 and 14 rooms 23 and 25 are also adjoining, (Floors 10, 11, & 12 are not adjoining), so I didn't highlight, but they would still follow the above guidelines.)

After applying the rules i'v seen on the boards, it appears that cabin 8596 on Allure has the bed by the balcony. Is this correct? I had the bed by the closet on Oasis, and didn't care for that set up.

Thanks for any input.

Yes, balcony.

9590 is a closet setup.

Wow, Rakes, that looks really great! I feel it's always useful to have things presented in more than one "format"- for instance, for the life of me I can't follow those ship "cutaway maps" in the stairwells:rolleyes: I have to look at birds eye view. So this will be very helpful for people who have trouble figuring it out from the written description. Of course, you might put Ocean Boy out of a job;)

I think you should post it as the first post on its own thread, because that way people using the advanced search for this info can see it without wading through so many individual requests!

Great work!

I couldn't have put it together without Ocean Boy or Sonar's guidance above.

We decided to book a boardwalk balcony, but really wanted a bed by the balcony. Our TA didn't know, tried calling Royal. At first they couldn't help, so I started looking @ CC. I knew it would be here. I put this together using this thread and just finished when our TA forwarded an email from Royal with an actual picture of an open room with the bed by balcony.

Just to be sure, I checked it against the diagram I put together. We agreed, so I booked it.

Thought since I had it, I would post for others.

I listed all the boardwalk balcony rooms at the bottom so someone would find it with a search.

Doing this small area was easy. It gets more difficult when suites are involved. From reading through this thread I'm sure many are thankful for Ocean Boy's quick responses.
