Once we figure out what port, we will redirect you to the ports board for hotel recommendations. I will start you by giving you the link to the Ports board, here:

I agree with others, in many- but not all- taxi or shuttles are MUCH better options than ship's transfers.

Welcome to Cruise Critic. Unless you can find a hotel that offers free transfers either from the airport to the hotel or the hotel to the port, or both, you best bet will probably be a taxi. However, without knowing which port, we can't be of too much help.

Port canveral & carnival dream

It would be cheaper to stay right in Orlando near the airport and then take a shuttle over to the port the next morning.

Try the LaQuinta North Orlando Airport. They have a free airport shuttle and a free hot breakfast. They have won some TripAdvisor awards and have good customer reviews. They are located next to a park area and also have many restaruants and shops within walking distance. They offer some really good discounts if you have AAA. AARP or a Govt type of ID card. If not, their best rates are still good.

Here is a list of some of the restaurants that you could walk to from the hotel. This is always nice to know before hand if one does not have a car. http://www.urbanspoon.com/ps/26/4649/orlando-la-quinta-inn-and-suites-orlando-airport-north-nearby-restaurants

The next morning you could arrange for TravelLynx shuttle service to pick you up at your hotel and take you to the port. They will also pick you up after the cruise and take you back to the Orlando airport. http://www.travelynx.net/

Good luck to you and have a great cruise.

Here's an example from last week. We sailed Holland America out of San Diego. The cruise line wanted $17.95 each for an airport transfer. There were 5 of us in the group. We didn't have the transfer as we were planning to take a cab. We squeezed into the taxi, all 5 of us, plus bags, (he had a van). Total bill showing on the meter was $7.80.

So 10 bucks as compared to a hundred.

You can always do better making your own travel plans. You're in the right place on this message board.

Post where and when you need the transfer and someone can tell you how to do it.

Also, you can arrange excursions here on CC. We did it in Europe, it worked out great.
