puggylicious Posted February 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2012 Is it less expensive to purchase the soda package before sailing or once onboard?
limey-51 Posted February 18, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2012 :)I think its the same whichever way you book it,:confused:I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong:p Terry.
cb at sea Posted February 18, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2012 No price advantage to buying it in advance. The only "advantage" is if you book in advance, you'll pay then and there, and it won't be on your shipboard account!
Quixotic Posted February 18, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2012 We purchased it on day one while onboard. It was the same price as what I saw listed on RCI's website. I regret buying it, but I know some people are really big into soda. We drank some, but not $150 worth.

sherilyn70 Posted February 18, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2012 We drank more than 4 soda's each per day... it was worth the cost to us. The souvenier cups made it easy to always have a drink available while back in our cabin as well.
Beth C Posted February 19, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 19, 2012 If purchasing on board wait until after you set sail... If you buy before you'll have to pay taxes... Once at sea... Tax free :)
Merion_Mom Posted February 19, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 19, 2012 If purchasing on board wait until after you set sail... If you buy before you'll have to pay taxes... Once at sea... Tax free :) This is not universally true. It depends on the departure port.
How'sBartCruisin'? Posted July 18, 2012 #9 Share Posted July 18, 2012 Just bought the package for our cruise in August. Anyone have a picture of what the insulated thermomugs (mine own word, feel free to steal) look like this year??? ...hopefully different than last year. P.S. pulled up an old thread through search and did not start a new one. :D

Pushka Posted July 18, 2012 #11 Share Posted July 18, 2012 Buying on ship does not make it tax free sailing from Spain. With us, we purchased when our Aussie dollar was high so it did make it cheaper for us to buy in advance. Rare Lionesss Posted July 18, 2012 #12 Share Posted July 18, 2012 We purchase it ahead of time for three reasons. 1. We already have it paid for and nothing extra on sea pass. 2. We have a permanent embossed decal on the sea pass card, not some flimsy sticker we could lose. 3. We drink soda. Safe travels. jakesmom04 Posted July 18, 2012 #13 Share Posted July 18, 2012 I went to the link and I am reading it as discount only if pairing with specialty dining. If incorrect, please let me know.
SnappyNappi Posted July 18, 2012 #14 Share Posted July 18, 2012 Soda packages are on sale until the end of the month. I think you save about $0.50 a day. "Limited-time soda savings! Purchase an Unlimited Fountain Soda Package online before you sail, and enjoy a discount off the regular price you'd pay onboard. Hurry, offer valid through July 31st for all sail dates." click on beverage packages for the info: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/experiencetypes/category.do?pagename=onboard_cat_dining_options HeyMarco, Thanks for that tip! I just went online and bought the discounted soda package (which I intended to buy anyway) but got it for the $.50 day discount for both of us traveling. It may only be a few bucks, but better in my pocket than theres. Thanks again!

Many of the coupons/disounts are not worth the time put in to use them. Some of them they won't even honer if you try to use them..
