Stars

Does anyone know how long it takes HAL to update the number of stars you are? This cruise I just took put me into the 2 Star category, but I just checked online and still show as only a 1 Star Mariner.

 

 

On what date did your cruise end?

Patience, girl! We were on same cruise....waiting to be promoted to 3 stars!

It can take anywhere from 5-10days. The final invoice (gasp) states points will be awarded 10 days after cruise end.

I'm shocked how long some of you have waited to have days posted. Ours always show up so fast.......

 

We were already Four Star when the program started but all our days earned since have been credited so promptly.

 

Guess we're just lucky. :)

I went in to do some stuff for my next cruise and my last cruise was already recorded:) it only took 8 days but we got off on a Monday. 10 appears to be the average for us which i think is quite good. Patience, it will happen:D

Hi Rose!

 

It was great having dinner together at the Pinnacle Grill! The last time it took about a week for them to update the cruise day credits. You should also be getting a 2-star pin in the mail - that will take a couple of months.

 

We hope to see you soon on another cruise!

Thought I would report that I just went into my HAL Mariner account thought I will fill out my on line registration for our upcoming B2B on the Zuiderdam but for the fun of it I checked to see if the extra days were showing from the Westerdam that we just disembarked from Sunday morning. When I read this thread on Tuesday morning I had checked it and of course they were not showing. But today we had 9 more days added. :) (No we did not have a suite this time and we did not spend that much :o )

So not sure if it posted yesterday or today but was really pretty quick.

It also depends on how insistent/stubborn you want to be. We did a back to back cruise and one of our cruise friends went to 3 star at the end of the first leg. She kept going back to the front desk until they changed her status for the second leg to 3 star. That was just over a year ago.............

It's been my experience the days have been posted very quickly.

It also depends on how insistent/stubborn you want to be. We did a back to back cruise and one of our cruise friends went to 3 star at the end of the first leg. She kept going back to the front desk until they changed her status for the second leg to 3 star. That was just over a year ago.............

 

 

I think that is awful.

 

They should see the 'Bully' movie. The people at the Front Desk do not make the terms and conditions. For them to have been so harrassed was inappropriate IMO

Agreed. I can only think that this cruiser wanted the 25% discount on certain purchases that comes with the 3-star status. Another way to work around this would have been to e-mail HAL post-cruise to request a refund of the difference on the qualifying purchases. It's possible the charges & credit would have even appeared on the same month's statement. :rolleyes:

 

There's just no excuse for harassing employees like that.

 

 

RE: pins. We reached 3-star on our trans-Atlantic cruise that ended this past November. The pretty pins arrived exactly 90 days after we got home. Good thing we weren't holding our breaths. :D

That is terrible of your friends to keep insistening that their status should be upgraded right then and there for their second part of the cruise.

JMO -- the front desk people should have referred this couple to the guest relations manager who could show them HAL's rules in writing.
