39august Posted July 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2012 We were there several years ago and there was absolutly NO shade at the beach. No umbrellas to rent, no palapas, nada. It was miserable, so we ended up sitting at the patio restaurant. I am hoping this has changed. So, any shade to be had on the beach?
bookbabe Posted July 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Must have been a long time ago, since there has been umbrella rental for at least the last four or five years that we've been visiting. They also now have beach and poolside cabanas for rent, that's new within the last year or so. All the details are on their website... http://royalpalmscayman.com/
cb at sea Posted July 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 27, 2012 Go to Seagrape, instead.....Trees along the beach edge...chair and umbrella rentals are plentiful...very nice! Also...bathrooms, and restaurant and watersport rentals right there.
blue_water Posted July 27, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2012 Seagrape is good but we prefer the Reef at Royal Palms because the burger is excellemt and the staff there is very friendly. The beach is also very nice and in a great lication. We're staying at the Marriott next month and I'm sure we'll walk to the Reef a few times.
