dollar to euro

Loop

Recommended Posts

Start with a bank that you do regular business with. Many offer better rates and/or waive transaction fees to customers with premium checking or money market accounts if you make the exchange as an electronic debit to your account.

A longer shot may be if any major shopping malls in your area have currency exchange booths. They all charge basically extortion rates to foreign tourists buying US Dollars, but can be reasonably fair when selling a currency they take in a lot of (here in Florida you can buy GBP at a mall for less than at any bureau in London).

Many of your local banks will sell Euros but will not buy them back.

American Express travel centers do both. I suggest buy at your bank and be prepared to sell at AMEX or similar. Or better still spend them all and don't bring any back.
