Emerald gift basket?

Recommended Posts

Just got all of our cruises credited to be at Emerald level. The Crown and Anchor rep said there would be a gift basket in our room. Can anyone confirm and tell me what might be in it?

From the C&A Member's Benefits Page under Footnote 5........

Emerald, Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club members will receive a pre-selected welcome gift basket on day one of their sailing. The pre-selected gift basket will consist of one sweet, one salty and one fruit snack which will be placed in the guest's stateroom. The guest will also be able to go online to www.RoyalCaribbean.com/UpgradePreferences or call one of our Loyalty Representatives (www.RoyalCaribbean.com/ContactLoyalty) in their local offices to pre-select from a list of beverages to be included with their Welcome Basket. One beverage can be selected per guest 18 years of age or older. Preferences must be entered or updated for your upcoming cruise vacation up to 5 days before a US based sailing and 7 days for an internationally based sailing. The beverage selection list for Emerald and Diamond members will include water, juice and soda items. In addition to the previous list Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club members will be able to select certain beers, a house red wine, house white wine or house sparkling wine. If a guest has not selected an item then bottled water will be sent to the stateroom. House alcoholic brands may be substituted or changed upon available inventory.

That is the cellophane-wrapped 'gift basket' on the left on the counter.

I have to say I agree with the welcome aboard gift… But I usually throw out the inside "goodies" and use the box in the bathroom to store my make up on the counter! Then I bring it home to use in the home office… jmo

As I recall, a small thing of dried fruit that was OK, and some inedible "cookies" we threw away. It looked nice but was pretty much a waste of packaging and money:rolleyes:

The "small thing of dried fruit "is not fruit at all. Rather it's dried candied ginger root which is good for motion sickness.

Total waste of cardboard if you ask me, and I include the so-called snacks in that description. Give us another milkshake or match play or photo discount and save the labor and packaging/storage these silly things must cost.

I move from Platinum to Emerald after the first part of a B2B.... will have to have a little word with the Loyalty Ambassador soon after boarding.....

You dont normally get your points until 2 weeks after you cruise. Good luck let us know how you make out

if you're on a back to back and your status changing after one leg, your loyalty ambassador should be able to change your status.

Linda, I'm surprised. How can you be only Platinum with all those cruises under your belt? I thought you were Diamond already!

Oh WOW! Where (and why) do people dredge up these old threads? SMH LOL!

No no no!

Do not criticize someone for bringing up an old thread!

It is the other side of the coin of telling people who ask a commonly-asked question to 'do a search'. This is what happens when someone DOES a search!

Don't criticize for that!

;)

Chuckle.

And to update the thread..... I did get that upgrade as mentioned previously..... and I'm the one who got the upgrade to D after a cruise had started and didn't have to wait until after the sailing to go up the level...... /runs from room and hides.

On our Allure sailing last week, the Emerald gift basket, (we got 2, and 3 of us in cabin turned emerald), consisted of those cookies you see in picture and hard tack candy.

Forgot them on table, didnt have room for them anyway.

I remember when the cruise lines actually gave "gifts". I'd much prefer a photo frame or even a key chain or a water bottle to a box of cookies.

I don't understand the point of food, when one could easily get cookies from the buffet.

I'm sure Royal is spending some coin to have those boxes put together. Like others have noted, a casino coupon or a free-cupcake coupon would be much preferred, and would probably cost a lot less to the loyalty program.

I actually like candied ginger root. Reminds me of my mother who loved it! :)

What a great idea! I usually bring the collapsible trays for my make-up, etc.. For my upcoming 2 nighter, I can use this basket and leave the trays at home. That is...if we even get gifts on the 2 nighter. We'd better. We spent enough for those 2 nights.

I did a search for my question and come up with this thread, so I am bringing it back up to ask a question about stateroom gifts. :D

Being Diamond, are there any other gifts (not coupons) we should receive in the stateroom besides this goodie package and a drink? Will a pool bag be given out to use up on deck and in port or should I bring one that we receive on Celebrity cruises?
