mistshar Posted September 15, 2012 #51 Share Posted September 15, 2012 I found Carnival very rulesy. Like during disembarkation, they repeatedly announced that if you snuck off before your group and your bags weren't ready, you would be sent back to the ship. I do not plan to return to them. I have never heard such an announcement on Carnival and we have been on several. We always do the self-embarkation so we can get off early. Maybe they made that announcement after we got off. I don't understand why that would bother you so much that you would not cruise with them again.
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted September 15, 2012 #52 Share Posted September 15, 2012 I really hope Princess doesn't follow suit because the FCC is such a wonderful program! For me, who loves cruising more than anything, it enables me to purchase "security/guarantee" that we'll be going on another cruise within the next 4 years. It also guarantees that we'll sail on my favorite cruise line, Princess. The bonus OBC further entices my husband. This is a win-win for us and a win-win for Princess! Iamcruzin Posted September 15, 2012 #54 Share Posted September 15, 2012 I am on the fence as to whether I will purchase any FCC's on my next trip. I guess it depends what type room and how expensive the overall itinerary is. I used my two FCC's to book the highest category interior room on the Royal Princess. It actually would have been less of a deposit if I didn't use the FCC's. They only required 10% down since it was booked during the launch period and the deposit would only have been $160 as opposed to $200 with the FCC. Princess no longer sails to the destination I want to sail to at the time of year that works for me so I will probably be looking at Royal Caribbean for my next cruise. The only reason I booked this cruise when I did is because I had a referral credit that was about to expire. The cruise is over a year away and who knows if I will even be able to go.
