missyoua Posted October 10, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 10, 2012 Does the main dining room dishes change over the course of the cruise or is it the same thing every day for our 7 day cruise?
njhorseman Posted October 10, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2012 Does the main dining room dishes change over the course of the cruise or is it the same thing every day for our 7 day cruise? NCL main dining room menus have two sides. One is an "always available" side...these dishes are available every day. The other side changes every day. There are also minor differences between the "always available" menus in the two main dining rooms.
Jenner9 Posted October 11, 2012 #7 Share Posted October 11, 2012 I know you don't have to pay for food at O'Sheehans but do you have to pay for the shakes or other drinks? Obviously the alcohol but do you pay for the drinks on the menu?
I&J Cruisers Posted October 11, 2012 Author #8 Share Posted October 11, 2012 Thanks for posting these. I&J -- **Taste & Manhattan are the main dining rooms. SASA thanks, that explains it. I haven't cruised with NCL in many years. Someone asked me about the menus on Epic so I posted it here. DH and I have been cruising for almost 40 years. Never been on this board before. What a friendly group. Thanks again

Obviously the alcohol but do you pay for the drinks on the menu? As far as I know you have to pay for all the drinks and the shakes. But I don't know if the included drinks like water, ice tea etc. are there available, too or not.

K L B Posted October 18, 2012 #13 Share Posted October 18, 2012 Does anyone have the menu for cirque dreams? I understand there is no menu. It is a fixed meal, and I think I remember reading that it is a meat & seafood combo. A vegetarian alternative is also available.

A vegetarian alternative is also available. You are given a menu but it is fixed so you don't order from it. There is a vegetarian option. Also if you have a shellfish/seafood allergy, you will receive more beef tenderloin and no lobster shrimp. Salad Trio Foie Gras with Fig Chutney Heart of Boston Lettuce with Buttermilk Dressing Chicken Sate with Cucumber & Tomato Marmalade (These are all served on one plate.) Surf & Turf Grilled Jumbo Shrimp and Roasted Beef Tenderloin Cheesy Gratin Potatoes, Swiss Chard and Stem Baby Carrots Madeira Sauce Trilogy of Sweets (again all served on one plate) Red Velvet Cupcake with Cream Cheese Frosting Vanilla Bean Pot De Crème with Wild Berries Flourless Chocolate Cake with Praline Crème & Crystallized Violet

saddixie Posted October 18, 2012 #18 Share Posted October 18, 2012 Thanks for posting. Is O'Sheehan's open for lunch? Looks good! Dont get your hopes up too much!! - I found the food in O'Sheehans inferior - mozarella deep fried tasted like cardboard and I pushed it aside. British Fish and chips - fish in same shape and taste as the mozarella and I dont even think they are the same species (one cheese, one fish - havent got a clue which kind!!) - plus cabbagy coleslaw has never been served with british fish and chips as long as I have been alive (50 years) - pickled eggs maybe and deep fried mars bars!! After one experience didnt eat here again (sailed 7th Oct 2012) Caveat - this is just my opinion
ihopfar Posted October 18, 2012 #19 Share Posted October 18, 2012 On the ships with the Blue Lagoon they had soups, sandwhiches and desserts. I don't see that listed on the O'Sheehan's menu. We will be on the Breakaway, which I expect to be close to the O'Sheehan's on the Epic. Are there other items than on the posted menu? Anyone have the breakfast menu? Thanks, Brad

Food is subjective. Hopefully you found something you did enjoy. There is no cost for the food at O'Sheehans. BTW, coleslaw is a typical side dish with fried fish in the US. And to anyone who actually thinks there were pickled eggs and deep fried Mars bars, no there aren't.
