re-re Posted October 14, 2012 Author #101 Share Posted October 14, 2012 It was very hot in Grand Cayman, We stopped at Margaritaville so the hubby could grab a beer. It was kinda slow at Margaritaville, So Ivan had his beer and we left. Hubby had to stop here. My Baby has been trying to convince me for twenty plus years to let him get a motorcycle...Ain't gonna happen, He already plays with race cars that's it buddy! re-re Posted October 14, 2012 Author #102 Share Posted October 14, 2012 I like these dresses! Do you remember the price on them? I'm not sure, not to much i'm thinking around $25 or 30 bucks. I bought mostly t-shirts and other souvenir's.:)
re-re Posted October 14, 2012 Author #103 Share Posted October 14, 2012 We wanted to go to Royal Palms beach but after shopping and walking around we was so hot and tired, we decided to go back to the ship to cool off, we got on the tender boat to take us back to the ship and waited and waited for them to leave. The water is so clear, you can actually see the fish swimming around.
re-re Posted October 14, 2012 Author #104 Share Posted October 14, 2012 After we got back on the ship we went to find food, we got a burger from the grill, after we finished eating we chilled on the deck and i tried the dod, It was called a Goombay smash...this is what i had the rest of the day, so good. This was the third drink, i was feeling no pain. Ivan chillin! I took this from our balcony just because.:D We planned on getting back off the ship but after three drinks, this old lady needed a nap.;)
re-re Posted October 14, 2012 Author #105 Share Posted October 14, 2012 So after my nap it was time to start getting ready for dinner, i loved anytime dining because i would have never made it to dinner on time. Michael was too cool and a very good dancer, we found that out during dinner. I had the frog legs from the didja ever menu, I didn't like them, i thought they should go on the dontchu ever menu. Ivan had the chicken tenders, they were very good, i always order something different from him and don't like it and end up eating his food. re-re Posted October 15, 2012 Author #107 Share Posted October 15, 2012 I went to relax on the Balcony for a while and saw lights, so i grabbed my camera so i could zoom in to see what was out there and this is what i saw. I know this is not a good picture but i can tell it's a Carnival ship, what ship i don't know. So after sitting on the balcony we went to the talent show in the Criterion lounge, it was fun but i wondered about some of the talent, One lady decided to dance for the talent show, she got a lot of cheers, i didn't know whether to cover my eyes or throw a dollar. We left the talent show and went to our bar for a drink.
re-re Posted October 15, 2012 Author #108 Share Posted October 15, 2012 We woke up early again today and ordered room service, we relaxed all morning, I think i was i little down this day because i know the cruise was coming to an end. We stayed in the room until around noon. We went to the main dining room for lunch because i wanted to turn in our free drink coupon. We both ordered a Margarita, they gave us a double shot, we found out later that you could order any drink under $9 bucks, not just from the classic menu,i still would have ordered the margarita. I ordered the salad for starters. Ivan ordered the Jamaican bean soup, which was very good. We both got the BBQ ribs, falling off the bone tender, but the baked beans are not baked beans, more like pork-n-beans.
re-re Posted October 15, 2012 Author #109 Share Posted October 15, 2012 After lunch we went to the casino, i lost all that i had won during the week. Although i wasn't to upset because i did the math and really only lost about ten dollars of my own money. so after giving Carnival their money back we walked around and took pictures of the ship. We did watch a movie one night, they were playing Bourne Supremacy and Armageddon. I thought this was pretty.

re-re Posted October 15, 2012 Author #115 Share Posted October 15, 2012 Later that day we sat on the balcony and watched the sunset, it was so beautiful, i could never get tired of this. A bird was flying around.
re-re Posted October 15, 2012 Author #116 Share Posted October 15, 2012 After enjoying the peace and quiet on the balcony, it was time for our last dinner, we went to the dining room so we could give a few extra dollars for tips, our waiter was outstanding and deserved it. Ivan wore his jacket tonight, it was freezing in the dining room. Ivan had the mushroom soup for his starter. I had this, i forget the name but it was good. MzOhioLady Posted October 15, 2012 #117 Share Posted October 15, 2012 Thanks for reading. I loved Jamaica, Did you like the Magic? i'm searching for my next cruise it's definitely gonna be a 7 day. We LOVED the Magic and sailing out of Galveston, Texas. If you're looking for a newer ship with LOTS of Things to do, plus a fun atmosphere, then the Magic is your Ticket. I didn't do a review but if I had the $$, I'd get back on the Magic in a heartbeat. We didn't have a Balcony this time, instead we had a Spa Interior Cabin but we were in Cabin 11212 on the 11th Deck. We had use of the Spa all week without having to pay extra for access to the Spa so that was a Great Perk and I loved being up so high on Deck 11. We only had to go down 1 deck to get to the Lido Deck so that was another cool perk. We also loved the itinerary too! I'd say give the Magic a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed. re-re Posted October 15, 2012 Author #118 Share Posted October 15, 2012 The menu tonight didn't have a lot that we like so Ivan ordered the meatloaf and i ordered the flat iron steak. He said it was okay but not even close to the meatloaf i cook at home. I ordered this medium well, but came out well done, it wasn't bad, had a good flavor but kinda chewy. We did not order dessert. re-re Posted October 15, 2012 Author #119 Share Posted October 15, 2012 After dinner we finally made the comedy show on time, it was hilarious. The comedian is Eddie Clark, he is seriously insane. We couldn't take pictures of the comedy show so i don't have any. We ordered drink coupons and had a few left so we decided to try to use what was left...Wrong answer, we ended up bringing some home, so you know what that means, i need another cruise so i can use the left over coupons, i so hate to waste money.;) I only met one person from the roll call, we met her on the Bob Marley tour, Very cool lady, we ran into her a few more times on the ship and chatted with her, she said her cabin was hot and she had to ask for a fan, our room was just the opposite, it was so cold in our room we had to turn the vent off. We did smell the sewer smell that people talk about, it was by the photo gallery, we only smelled it once, simple remedy for that is to walk away. still not sure if the smell was from the ship or if someone let one loose in the hall. We did self assist and carried our luggage off the ship because we had a 12:30 flight, we used Sas transportation, we were off the ship and at Fort Lauderdale airport by 9:15am. My final thoughts on the Destiny. The Destiny is a beautiful ship, sure the buffet lines are long but you have so many options like room service, The main dining room, The deli, Happy Valley, the list goes on. There are so many things to do on the ship you're bound to miss half of it unless you do a b2b. I never noticed any run down dirty areas, the crew was always cleaning, never ran into any rude staff, everyone was friendly. This was a great vacation, it was so good to get away for a few days and spend some alone time with the love of my life, we have kids so most of our vacations are family vacations. We had so many laughs, quiet and relaxing moments. But most all of we remembered why we fell in love.:D
golfb4cruzing Posted October 15, 2012 #120 Share Posted October 15, 2012 This is the 3rd review about warm cabins. Not yours but the lady you met. I hope ours is freezing on the 29th. A warm room will definitely cause issues on the vacation . I don't do heat ever. I had the flat iron every night on the Legend and it was stellar. Plan on it again if it's good. We have been on Princess the last 2 years and their cruises are exceptional IMO. Coming back to Carnival for quick 5 days for wife's birthday. Sprung for Suite this time. I am ready to leave now after your review.

A cold cabin is always good as you can turn the vent off if it's to cold.
