forevertravel Posted October 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2012 Can someone tell me what the spa pool in the Nieuw Amsterdam is? Is it a hot tub? Is there a charge? We are doing the Mediterranean cruise next August and I've read about the spa pool. Thank you.
IRL_Joanie Posted October 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2012 The 2 photos below do not really do justice to the huge size of the Hydro Therapy/Spa Pool (click on them to see them full sized) And, If you want to check out other areas of the Nieuw Amsterdam you can click the link UNDER the photos: -- Public Areas of the Nieuw Amsterdam: http://abqreunion2008.com/Nieuw_Amsterdam/index-2.html Hope these help:) Joanie

northernphoenix Posted October 14, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2012 Is this part of the thermal spa, or available to one and all? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
RuthC Posted October 14, 2012 #7 Share Posted October 14, 2012 The T-pool is not supposed to be as hot as a hot tub is. It should be close to body temperature. This makes it great for those with a cardiac condition who can't use the hot tubs.
RuthC Posted October 14, 2012 #8 Share Posted October 14, 2012 Is this part of the thermal spa, or available to one and all? "Yes" to both questions. It's available to everyone who is willing to pay the price, and purchases before the limit is reached. There is a maximum number of places sold. Krazy Kruizers Posted October 14, 2012 #10 Share Posted October 14, 2012 Some people have waited until they get on the ship and seem to get a better deal than when they order the pass for the entire cruise before sailing.
HALrunner Posted October 14, 2012 #11 Share Posted October 14, 2012 I bought the thermal suite pass on the NA in January and rarely saw anyone else in the t-pool. We were on a 14 day Caribbean cruise and although I enjoyed it, felt like with a port intensive itinerary it was hard to get my money's worth out of it. Just something to think about. I will soon by on the Noordam for a transatlantic and am considering it again given all the sea days. Remind me again....how much is the 14 day pass if purchased on board?!? Typhoon1 Posted October 14, 2012 #12 Share Posted October 14, 2012 It is part of the Thermal Spa. A very relaxing place to spend some time. I can highly recommend it.
forevertravel Posted October 15, 2012 Author #13 Share Posted October 15, 2012 Thank you for the answers and pictures. How much is the pass? Mediterranean cruise is port intensive so I'm not sure if it will be worth to buy the pass. Thank you again.
northernphoenix Posted October 15, 2012 #14 Share Posted October 15, 2012 I enjoyed the spa while in Alaska on board the Volendam,, but our next itinerary is a 12 day Mediterranean, and can't see that I would be able to take full advantage of this , Marilyn Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
forevertravel Posted October 15, 2012 Author #15 Share Posted October 15, 2012 One more question, does the pass for thermal spa allows anything else besides using the pool? Is the charge per day or do you buy pass for entire cruise. We'll be on a 12 day cruise. This is our second cruise with Holland so I don't know if we get any discounts to buy the pass. Do we have to buy one for each of us (hubby and me). Thanks. I'm a newbie about this thermal pool.
Rlrcoaster Posted November 5, 2012 #16 Share Posted November 5, 2012 The hydro pool is kept at body temerature (98) enabling pregnant gals to use it safely. A 7 day pass for one is about $129 or about $230 for two people. It includes both the hydropool and the thermal suite area (saunas, steam, tile loungers). You'll find me there often! There's also a free dry sauna across the hallway from the hydropool open to anyone. A seperate one for each sex. Bob
