New Years Eve on Princess

Parties in the Atrium, Explorers Lounge, Wheelhouse have dancing to live music. Last

year on the Golden the Princess House Band was in the Explorers Lounge, while the

normal Wheelhouse group was in the the Atrium. Dancing in the Atrium is difficult

because of the floor. Of course a party all night in Skywalkers to disco.

10 more days for us till the Golden.

The wife and I are booked on a Princess ship on New Years Eve and I was just wondering if there is there is a party. Thanks:)

As others have said, the answer is yes. Here's a clip from moments before midnight on my first New Year's cruise a few years back on the Dawn Princess...

Thanks. This will be our first New Years aboard a ship. Ruby. So these early to bed folks (us) will be looking forward to the midnight party. :D

On the NYE cruises I've been on, it's formal night, and they often have a special menu for dinner. And as others have said, there are several parties complete with party hats, streamers, confetti, balloons...(I don't know how they get it all cleaned up so quickly!!)

If you bring Champagne with you, ask for glasses early in the day- or better, the night before, as they tend to run out on NYE itself.

Have fun!!

And chances are there will be one held at midnight UK time.

Yes, there has been celebrations of the NYE British time on the two NYE cruises I've been on in 2005/6 and 2010/11. I didn't go to them, though. For our last cruise, there was the Fox channel countdowns, for each time zone, it seemed, in the Piazza, with a balloon drop for where we were in the ocean. At least for four or five time zones.

There were quite a few parties scattered about the ship, featuring live music.

Will they show "The Poseidon Adventure" on MUTS ?:D?

Thanks for mentioning this. I should be sleeping, since my plane leaves in a few hours, but AMC is showing the remake of Poseidon tonight, which is much better graphics than the original, and now I'm second guessing if I want to make that plane and the ship LOL.

We spent a few years back New Years Eve on the top deck of the Coral. The next day we sailed through the Panama Canal. What a great party they put on and there were hats etc.. We ate at Sabatinis that night which was very festive.

This year we will spent New Years Eve on the Caribbean Princess in the Caribbean.

Very looking forward to it.

What a treat, enjoy!!;)

We were on the Golden Princess for this past Christmas and New Years. They had celebrations in the Atrium, Pool Deck, Vista Lounge, Explorers Lounge, even in the Casino.

Check with the staff. Some preferred loud. They had a celebration for those who speak Spanish as well.

We were on the CB last New Year's. The parties were in the locations others mentioned and they also had a big makeshift screen on the Promenade deck on which the festivities from the deck party were projected. That same screen showed the countdown. They did have some servers handing out glasses of champagne at midnight but those disappeared quickly. As for special menu items, I don't remember anything except for the twin lobster tails, yummy and they were a good size too. I couldn't finish it!
