I just checked my online reservation and it now shows a balance of $616 without an explanation of the charges. Obviously this is for the classic beverage package which should not have a charge as it was given to us as part of the 123 promo. Anyone else have this happen? I am even more confused as we upgraded to the premium beverage package. Luckily we received an invoice from Celebrity showing the promo package in our booking.

During the initial 1,2,3 promotion period the fine print on the beverage package said "Premium Beverage Package upgrade available for an additional charge: order upgrade on board."

The fine print currently says to upgrade contact Celebrity.

I booked thru a TA and the beverage package still doesn't show on my reservation although the TA says it is showing in the Celebrity system. From what I have read tons of the packages are not showing on the "my reservation" section yet.

I plan to upgrade on board - and am taking a copy of the original promo fine print with me just in case.

Thats an interesting piece of information. I never saw the original englisch fineprint - just knew the one that said "contact celebrity". In the german fineprint it didnt even say "contact celebrity". There was just nothing said about the possibility to upgrade to premium. That's what really makes me wonder what the rules are...

We upgraded through a TA 3 weeks ago and the online reservation still says Classic. TAS invoice has a charge for the premium upgrade, due at final payment.

Personally, I would not wait to so this onboard as its likely they will not know how to do this , not have heard of the promo or not have the availing to do so in their computer system.....just saying.

Hello everyone,

I booke my South America cruise under th 1-2-3 go promotion directly with Celebrity Germany. My classic bev package has already shown up at my reservation on My Celebrity. However when I called in and asked them to upgrade it to the premium package, I was told this would not be possible and I should try to upgrade it aboard the ship. Called several times and got the same answer. An email to celebrity stayed unanswered.

Has anyone else had this problem, or is this just the german branch not knowing the fineprint?

Do you think upgrading onboard would work? Usually the cancel the initial package and credit you the value left before they book in the premium one. Since I didnt pay for the classic, there would be nothing to credit, or am I wrong about that?

Any thoughts?

Hi Wuselb,

We've heard that you can upgrade to Premium once onboard. Here in the US, I highly recommend making the purchase in advance. However, as the Germany office is advising you that it's not possible, I suppose there's not much else you can do. Have you asked to speak with a Supervisor ?

I will be happy to inquire about this. If I hear anything, I will post on this thread.

Hi Cbfb,

We've heard a few reports of this happening. While it's probably the beverage package charge, I'd defintitely inquire about it. Please contact Celebrity, or your TA if you booked with one. Hopefully, all will be fine. Good Luck !

I upgraded to the Premium as well. It is showing on the invoice from the TA as $616 owing at final pyt but showing as$0 on X's Booking Confirmation - Guest Copy. This is my TA's text. =.

I just sent you invoices, you'll notice that the $161 is in USD and the X invoice shows the WAV7 promo at $0. This is because they run a report every two weeks and then go in and adjust the price to $11.50 per person per day which comes to the $161. In a few weeks I can go in and request new invoices from X that will show the correct amount and I'll update my invoices and resend too.

Thanks Andy....I did inquire and was told it takes time for it to all adjust properly and my booking shows the 123 go promo with the upgrade to premium. When I checked back online a few minutes ago the charge had been taken off but the drink package still isn't listed at all. Not too worried about that though. I figure it will all be figured out on the next few cruises and hopefully will be set when we sail in March!!!

I booked a few days ago and told them I wanted the shipboard credit. Now I'm thinking maybe to switch to the beverage package... is it possible to change? Also wondering.... small question.... "premium bottled water" is not included. Is there non-premium sparkling water?

If I'm not able to switch to the beverage package what should I expect to pay for soft drinks, coffees, premium water, beer and wine?

Thanks,

Myra and Leo

Hi Myra and Leo, were you able to get 2 out of 3? (gratuities, OBC, and drinks) Also, if you are a Captains member and sailing to Europe between June and August you can get all three:)

I thought 2 out of 3 was only for Europe.

Hi Rubenstein2r,

That's correct. 2 of 3 is for Europe sailings, unless it's June-August 2013, where you get all 3 benefits for Europe... if you are a Captains Club Member. Most other sailings are 1 of 3. I hope this helps !

We are on the Century to Alaska at the end of May and we booked with a online T a .. we got the beverage package and the prepaid gratuities and a 50 dollar obc. We would usually use the obc for our bar bill or our daily gratuities but that is now covered. So we were thinking of how to use it ...can we put it to use in the casino ???? We dont want to go to any special dining so if we cant use it for the slots maybe in the duty free ??? We have never had any left over obc so this has never come up !!!!! lol

Yes, but they will charge you 5% surcharge to use the money in the casino...

Buy yourself a gift from the shops, use it for Bingo or perhaps put it towards an excursion.:D

We have done Alaska before so we wont be doing any excursions lol ...just get off and walk about ... bingo lost its glory a long time ago lol ... but the shops !! we were thinking of buying our rum on board instead of the duty free in port if we cant use it in the casino ... we just never had to think about it before because we never had any left over lol.And the shops in port were quite a bit cheaper than on the ship .It is only 50 dollars and that can go pretty quick in the casino but we usually donate pretty good in there so it is a little less out of our pocket ....Thanks for your thoughts tho ..

Hi Host Andy,

UPDATE: I see that Host Andy is off line. Can anyone else answer my question?

I have been out of town, and just noticed that there is a price drop on my upcoming cruise. $100 pp drop!

The TA site that I check doesn't show the price drop as anything special like "Senior or Resident" when I checked. When I booked a few weeks ago, I booked using the 1-2-3 and took the beverage package. I realize that the package is not good if we booked under a "non 5*" rate, which we didn't. However, now that the price is lower, how can I tell if it is a special rate? I didn't identify ourselves as being a Senior or a TN Resident when checking the price. If it's not a special, can I get the price reduction and keep the 1-2-3 package? I want to be prepared before asking my TA for a price reduction. I realize that the reduction would lessen her commission.

Hi Iamthesea,

As long as you are before final payment, and the lower price is five star or GroupX, you "should" be able to get both the price drop, and retain 123 GO. As far as it being booked with a TA, as it may reduce their commission, it could play a factor, but that's up to your TA.

As I always say - it never hurts to ask... so I suggest calling your TA in the morning. Please let us know what happens. Good Luck !

I would use the Internet, that quickly swallows it up.

Or maybe even the laundry.

However if you are Elite, you will get both free.
