Can you smoke cigars on the balcony?

Yes, cigar smoking is allowed on balconies. Remember you paid your fare just like everyone else. Don't let others keep you from enjoying yourself, if smoking offends you go somewhere else. Come to Las Vegas and visit a casino. Leave people to their vices and keep it to yourself!!!

P.S. I know you don't like this post, so you don't have to tell me!!!:D C.G.

Of oourse, as time goes on, there's more and more places to gamble that are going non-smoke:

would someone smoking a cigar on THEIR balcony really cause you folks to be so upset? (assuming there is no ship policy against it) there is generally a decent breeze.

There are enough complaints about cigarette smoke from a balcony, that I am sure there would be unhappy people if someone was smoking a cigar. However, as long as it is permitted on that ship, there is nothing anyone can do.

True - all non-smokers can do is try to find places free of smoke and hope that smokers eventually wise up and quit.

More likely is that either those lines still allowing smoking on balconies will wise up and ban it or non-smokers will wise up and switch to lines not allowing it.

I only saw one non-smoking casino in Nevada and it is in fernley. Has anyone even heard of Fernley? I stand by my statement of smoking happens and you should back off of the people that do smoke... By the way I am a Non-Smoker! C.G.

The Revel Casino in Atlantic City opened with much hoopla as a non smoking casino.

It is now bankrupt.

if it's that big of a concern then spend your money with the line which has a smoking policy to your liking

as I said if it's permitted!

since we will be on shore way more than on the ship it really isn't a big deal.

Revel failed/is failing due to entering the business during a bad economy, and tried to bring a "Vegas style resort" to an already crowded East Coast market. Revel is also trying to compete with Borgata and the Harrah's Group, which it can't, and presents itself as an upscale casino, with prices to match, which is part of the reason it's failing. With all of the refinancing and bankruptcy, we Jerseyites are on the hook for tens of millions of dollars in loans and tax breaks which would have been idea in another time period but not when the casino was being built. The incentives by the state were necessary in order to avoid the montrosity from sitting empty for the next decade or so. Although I don't smoke when I gamble, being a nonsmoking establishment has nothing to do with its failure. The other players in town cater to the crowds that like to play in AC, and being the new kid on the block, offering rooms during the week for $129 and up, when everyone else is offering rooms for free or less than $79.00, along with having higher eatery, spa and overall entertainment prices IS going to eventually kill this place.

I hope smoking isn't allowed on any balcony ---We like to enjoy our balcony also.

Jaybird -- you have over 1,000 posts on these boards. You must know by now that smoking on balconies is allowed by some lines. For me personally, I don't mind cigarette smoke so much as long as I'm not immersed in it. Cigars are another matter.

Although i don't think it will help them out much. Revel has emerged from bankruptcy, and will soon be a casino with smoking areas.

Didn't mean to start a smoking/no smoking thread. :)

I enjoy cigars a couple of times a month and while on vacation. As I mentioned, if it bothered someone, I'd not do it. I can understand.

Rick,

If they allow smoking cigars on the balconies and you were on a ship that had stern balconies and you got one of those, maybe the smoke would go aft and not be too much a bother to others.

Rockey,

I don't smoke, but it would depend on whether it was a good cigar and had a nice smell. I don't like the smell of cheap cigars. HA:)

I am a considerate cigarette smoker and have said here frequently that if someone near me was bothered by my smoke on MY balcony, I would be mindful of not smoking a lot when they were on the balcony, etc., but seriously, some of the posts on CC make you almost WANT to be obnoxious about it.

If it is permitted on your balcony, enjoy. It is YOUR vacation, too. :)

Unfortunately there are jerks on both sides of any issue.

I am one of those smoker quitters and don't smoke anymore, but I think that the smokers are the most fun active people to be around, so I put up with the smoke if I can.

I don't understand why folks are OK with nasty cigarette smoke but get worked up over a $20+ cuban cigar.

Just had to ask when it became legal for an American to have a Cuban cigar:confused: I'm not asking in a mean way -- just curious.

I don't believe it is legal to have one in the US. However, they can be legally purchased by Americans on some of the Caribbean islands and legally smoked before returning to the US
