Can you smoke cigars on the balcony?

I am pretty sure Carnival will not allow cigar smoking on the balcony.

Yes, Carnival does allow smoking a cigar on your balcony (but not in your cabin). However, it may cause some non-smokers to complain, just as they do about people smoking cigarettes.

I wouldn't smoke in the cabin and, if someone complained, I'd gladly not smoke a cigar on the balcony (I know it's close quarters).

Thanks again everyone!

I hope smoking isn't allowed on any balcony ---We like to enjoy our balcony also.

If it is important to you, you should check the cruise line's policy BEFORE booking.

OP indicates he would not smoke if someone complains. Other smokers may feel they have selected a ship because they are allowed to smoke and not be so quick to refrain.

Yes, cigar smoking is allowed on balconies. Remember you paid your fare just like everyone else. Don't let others keep you from enjoying yourself, if smoking offends you go somewhere else. Come to Las Vegas and visit a casino. Leave people to their vices and keep it to yourself!!!

P.S. I know you don't like this post, so you don't have to tell me!!!:D C.G.

Carnival Spirit does not allow smoking anywhere except the starboard side of one of the swimming pools.

Didn't mean to start a smoking/no smoking thread. :)

I enjoy cigars a couple of times a month and while on vacation. As I mentioned, if it bothered someone, I'd not do it. I can understand.

Although in most cases smoking is restricted because smoke may bother others, on ships there is a much more important reason why it is restricted: fire safety.

The number one danger to ships is not sinking, or running aground or whatever mishaps we think of when we think of ship accidents, but fire.

If you look at post #229 on this (fairly lively!) thread about smoking there is a list of the smoking policies of many of the lines. It's not entirely accurate, in small details of locations, but will give you a broad picture of the lines' policies.
