Hi I've just booked my family for our first ever cruise on the Celebrity Millennium from Singapore to Hong Kong and I have a couple of questions about embarking and port days.

With the embarking the travel agent told me they start embarking at noon for this cruise but didn't mention if they cut off time for embarking as the ship doesn't leave dock until the next day.

The cruise has a few days there it is docked over two days and I am wondering if they a time they close off re-boarding at a certain time on the first day of docking or can you come back on the ship anytime?

Thank you.

You are asking good questions.

In terms of the times to embark the ship for the very first time I would have your TA followup with Celebrity.

While it is true you can get on and off all night you should ask about the times for check in and the TA should be able to clarify this for you.

Welcome to Cruise Critic. I would guess either 5:00 or 6:00 but I agree with Keith, check with Celebrity. You can usually even board the next day on an over night like that but you would want to let the cruise line know ahead of time.

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

Usually there is a cut off time for checking in on the first day (as there will be the next day when the ship sails).

Once you have checked in - you can come and go from the ship as you please -- even stay out late. There will be someone on duty at the gangway all night long.

Me - I would want to get on the ship as soon as possible and explore it before it gets crowded with passengers.

Hi there - i am doing that same cruise but in reverse. I suspect that for embarkation they might keep it going until a certain point (like midnight) as many international flights arrive late.

Also, just found out that you will need a VISA for Vietnam. You can obtain this ahead of time or on the ship. If you plan on staying overnight at one of the ports (which we are doing as the pier is not close to the city) you will need to bring your passport/VISA to check into the hotel. As for Hong Kong, its a great city and you can find lots of stuff to keep you busy late into the night. But remember that the next day for you is disembarkation and they want to hustle you off the boat quickly.

Thanks everyone for the replies, the travel agent said that check-ins from the wharf will go until about 5pm, after that customer relations will do the check-in on board, a security guard will escort you on the ship.

I was just worried that I wouldn't have enough time with my flight arriving at 1pm but it won't be an issue in this case.
