Back to Back Question

Glad to help. It was really just dumb luck. I attended a Cap. Cir. presentation and rep mentioned it. I really thought it was a mistake, but figured the phone call was free. And it worked!! :)

Paul:

We were on the Grand with you for 49 days. We booked it as one cruise. We became Platinum (by cruise days) after this cruise but we only received one credit for the 49 days because I booked it as one cruise. The Captain Circle Hostess did upgrade us on board for the last segment to Platinum based on the number of days cruised. Do you think if I called Captain's Circle I could get 3 credits for this cruise?

Heather, this was a three segment cruise (I was there too) and if you call CC number you will definitely get the other two credits.

Heather,

Yes, if you call the Captain's Circle people, they should give you the extra two credits. I did that and we had two b2b's each booked as one cruise. When I called they gave us the second cruise credit for each trip.

Hope to see you again some day.

We are on a 21 day cruise this fall that has one booking number. But, the cruise can be booked as three 7 day cruises or two different 14 day cruises (the first 14 days, or the last 14 days). My question is how many credits can I get and how is the best way to acquire them. Thanks.

Another question that is off topic. Can OBC from stock be used for excursions. I believe I read that it could not be used for gratuites or casinos.

Thanks,

Linda

You can get 3 credits. On the last segment, see if the onboard Captain's Circle Rep can help. If not, call Princess when you get home and speak to a Captain's Circle rep at HQ.

It can actually used for anything that is charged to your onboard account. The accounting system does not care where the charge came from.

Thanks,

Linda

I agree with Caribill with the exception if you are a solo traveler or have booked a suite. In either of those caes, you will get extra cruise credits. You would still need to either talk to the onboard rep or call after the cruise.

We're also Elite & cruise credits do affect the Most Travelled OBC which begins with the 21st cruise credit at $25 per household. The amount increases in $25 increments for every 10 additional cruises up to $100 beginning with the 51st cruise. :D

We'll never attain that many credits but 2 additional credits for our two b2b cruises gets us closer to $50 on our 31st cruise. ;)

Not that I'm near that number of cruises, good to know. I didn't recall seeing it as a benefit of elite on the Princess site. Thanks

Actually, you get the incremental amounts on the 21st, 32nd, 42nd and 52nd cruises.

Princess does not seem to make a big deal of the Loyalty OBC. But it is nice to get. I figure every little bit helps. With the FCC, Loyalty and Shareholder OBC added to anything I can get from our TA, it puts a nice dent into the On Board Account

We will be on our first b2b in November. We will be changing rooms. We were told we will need to disembark, but wondered if we then have to stay off the ship until they start normal embarkation, or can we get back on sooner?

Any information on the process is greatly appreciated!

Sadly again different information each time I called. They supposedly checked to see if by paying 200% I would get double the days and was told yes.I deserve that, I'm paying for 2 peope :( we shall see........I will also be checking on bar set up & minutes.........I am only at maybe 180 days without this cruise so I know there will be someone or many someone's with more days. I did get invited to the lunch with the captain on my last cruise. :)

Forgive me if someone has already answered this, but you do not get double days for cruising solo on Princess. You get 2 cruise credits (3 if you're solo in a full suite), but only credit for the number of days sailed. It doesn't matter what percentage price you pay. If you do, let us know because I have a lot of cruise days I'd be fighting for. LOL.

If you do not want to take any excursion or go touring on your own, you will be asked to meet with others in the same situation around 10 AM. You will then leave the ship using your old cruise card.

This is done for USA immigration purposes so they will know that 100% of the passengers have left the ship.

Once immigration is satisfied, you will be led back onto the ship, this time using your new cruise card. Time off of the ship can be as little as 15-30 minutes.

As far as the room changing, you will need to pack everything but what is hanging in the closet. Your cabin steward will take care of moving your luggage and the hanging clothes to your new cabin. Be sure that you have emptied the cabin safe of your items.

You will need to vacate your cabin by around 8 AM so it can be prepared for the new passengers, so you need to plan where you want to be until your (about) 10 AM meeting and again when back onboard until your new cabin is ready for you, usually by noon. If it is a nice day, lounging by a pool is always an option.

We are staying in the same cabin can't we just go back to our cabin after getting back on board. Our turnaround port is Vancouver if that makes a difference.

You can go back to your cabin, but it may not be ready yet.

Of course you can go directly back to your cabin. Or eat again. :D You won't need to pack anything, so there's no reason not to go back.

On turn around days out of Ft. Lauderdale we are out of our cabin by about 9AM. After the normally 10AM meeting and being walked through immigration we've been allowed to go directly back to our cabin. (There can be a bit of a delay if some have not left the ship and they have to find them.)

Princess does a lot better job with B2B turn around days out of Florida than most other cruise lines. :)

Some people who do B2B cruises, staying in the same cabin, tell the cabin steward not to bother with their cabin on turnaround day morning. We're not that nice. We really need the towels changed out, because our bathroom floor seems to flood after every shower. But we are up and out of our cabin by 7am, before most other passengers, and let our steward know so that he can get it out of the way early.

There is no sleeping in on turnaround day even if you have no where you have to be.

Any time a cruise has segments, you get a new cruise card no matter how you booked it.nn

Your April 27th cruise is being sold as one 26 day from FLL to Edinburgh, or as a 14 to Southampton and then a 12 to Edinburgh. That makes it two legs. It then goes from SH to Edin and back again to S.hampton. Still a 14 and a 12. Or a 12 and a 14.
