FLL to Miami Late Night

Our son is coming with us on our 2nd leg of our b2b and he is flying into FLL the night before our cruise. Does anyone know a good way to get to our hotel. I am thinking taxi is the best since most shuttles will have stopped running by then. He is getting in around 7pm.

What hotel? You didn't say. 7 pm is still early. Did you phone or e-mail the hotel? That would be a good place to start. :)

Sorry, good questions. We are at the Holiday Inn POM. Good advice on calling the hotel. I will give that a try tomorrow.

A taxi for him from FLL to Miami will probably run him about $75.00 or so. Concerning shuttles, this is actually discussed daily here; I found a few threads for you by using the Search this Forum function:

I would call the shuttle companies to check the times they operate.

 

Be sure to have a back up plan (taxi probably) if his plane is delayed.

He may have to pay a premium and maybe wait a bit, but some of the shuttle companies operate later hours. Compare quotes and see what the best option is -- I suspect the cab will be closer to $85! :eek:

Thanks for the advice everyone. I am getting quotes now from shuttle companies and will always have a taxi as a backup.

A shuttle is your best choice but if that doesn't work out check the Tri Rail. You can get their shuttle at FLL to the Tri Rail station. Not sure how late it operates but the fare is inexpensive and he could then get a taxi from the Miami station to your hotel.

If your hotel has free parking it might make sense to rent a car for one day and pick your son up.
