Walt, we don't know. Andy, we don't know. But three cheers to them for doing the "job". (We haven't been reprimanded too many times, so all is well.) We say double their pay and an extra week of vacation for 2014. Thanks for the hard work.

Now and then we need to be reminded of the dedication and efforts made by the Hosts. Important to note that they do this without compensation. They volunteer their time, energy and talent. Thanks to all of them for a job well done. Thanks for starting this thread.

Did a June 7-19, 2011, Celebrity Solstice cruise from Barcelona that had stops in Villefranche, ports near Pisa and Rome, Naples, Kotor, Venice and Dubrovnik. Enjoyed great weather and a wonderful trip. Dozens of wonderful visuals with key highlights, tips, comments, etc., on these postings. May I add my thank-you too? I can only imagine the times some of us/one of us/all of us make you want to pull your hair out and yet you always remain diplomatic and encouraging to old-timers and newcomers alike. I don't know how you do it but I certainly do appreciate our hard-working hosts!

I thank the Hosts, too, although I have to say I have only a very vague idea of all they do, so any information would be greatly appreciated...

I thank them also, if you go to many other boards, no matter the topic you will see foul language and the guidelines are usually not followed. As someone who has been here from the beginning, I appreciate that this board stays true to the guideline, no advertising, name calling personal attacks and bad language. It's what really makes this board a pleasure.

Just so you know, Walt has been around for years and Andy is fairly new to the this board although not cruise critic.

Thanks Walt and Andy!

I also have a question. I've always wondered where Cruise Critic is based. The time zone is way ahead of Ohio's. Is it somewhere in Europe?

Thanks

Karin

Hi Karin,

Cruise Critic is based in Pennington, New Jersey.

Hi Everyone,

My sincere thanks for your kind comments about myself, Host Walt, and our fellow Co-Hosts on other forums. Hosting involves a huge commitment of our time and effort. In my case, due to work & family commitments, time is at a huge premium these days - but I always try to make time for our Cruise Critic community. I believe that all of our Hosts have something in common, and that's My passion for Cruising, sharing information, & helping our members. Along with our incredible community, it's what makes Cruise Critic the best Cruise resource on the 'net !

Thank You again for your kind comments. As always, it's very much appreciated !
