On Board Latitudes Shopping Discount -Changed?

And I believe it only applies to an NCL logo item.

And only to NCL logo items purchased in the concession shops....

for example, I just got off the Gem, and purchased a new NCL terry robe. Since it came from the housekeeping department, and not the shops, even though it had the NCL logo, they did not extend the Platinum discount to me.

I liked it better than the one they did sell in the shop (costlier, but much higher quality....)

And has only applied to logo items since at least last October.

I cruised last March and I got my discount ( silver tier ) on a MK watch in the boutique.

I was planning on getting an Invicta watch this time.... I guess I will pass

On my eyes they will lose money, I will only go to the shop once then and buy everything at once and probably never step foot back in there the rest of the cruise.

That is exactly what I thought when I read it myself..

No more multiple stops at the gift shop.. will do it all in one haul, good for me I guess.. means I'll end up spending less.. bad for NCL.. because well it means i'll end up spending less lol

Those great Bijoux Turner fake pashmina scarves which I own in 50 colors are definitely not overpriced, and you cannot buy those cheaper at any store anywhere for that quality. And some of us like the convenience of shopping onboard.

Can't you get these from Atlantic City for $10? When I saw them promoting these as discounted items, I walked out of the store.

As for the perks, I think NCL is not thinking it through. Limiting it to NCL logo items make sense, but limiting it to one transaction only will bring it fewer and fewer revenue.

**<LIKE>** button - :D

Exactly. YEAH - exactly, Gold & Platinum tiered cruisers should get more discounts, not less - and not one-time only especially when we are charging it to our onboard account(s) .... I mean "tiny" SPENDING $$$ for NCL to boost their balance sheets, obviously - again & again. :D

In their rush to nickel & diming, won't surprise me that with these "benefits enhancement" version x.x next time, it will be restricted to single purchase on day 1 and 2 only ... or something along those logics.

Haven't been to AC in a few years now, last time I saw these $10 deals inside one of since bankrupt (3x plus) casino associated with a certain TV celebrity - they were selling them at 50% off to clear out their remaining inventory as part of the closeout for the kiosk. Alas, "deals" like those can still be found on NYC's famous Canal Street in downtown Manhattan .... maybe for $5 if you bargain hard for it.
