We are looking for some tips. We are thinking about doing the Atlantis waterpark package but is it worth it?? Not sure what time the park opens probably 8 at the earliest and we'd have to leave by 130 to make it back to the ship. Any thoughts?

We did the water park and thoroughly enjoyed it BUT we had the whole day. I think your expectation of leaving the water park at 1:30 to make the 2:00 ship leaving is unrealistic. I would think getting out of the water at 12 or 12:30 latest would be closer to reality. It can take you almost half an hour to get to where you need to get a taxi. Traffic can be slow.

Even though we enjoyed it I would not do it for that short of a time. However if money is not a concern then go for it.

Edit.. Just checked. Water park hours are 9am to 5pm

We did this excursion on our Allure cruise last may. The slides don't open until 10 but if I remember correctly the aquarium was open as soon as we arrived and the beach was also open. I felt that it was plenty of time for us. We actually enjoyed the not so lazy river more than the slides. If you go through the Royal Caribbean excursion the have shuttles that return you to the ship every half hour if I remember correctly.

If your ship leaves at 2:00 you will need to be on the ship by 1:30. Better be in the vehicle and on your way to the ship from Atlantis by 1:00 - 1:15 latest.

We did the waterpark and it rained rained & rained - didn't care - we were wet already. Then really bad weather came in and everyone out of the water...........probably got 2 hours of slides (they opened at 10 a.m.). It was worth as it was on my bucket list to do the slides. ;)

If you have the funds then go for it! In May parked opened at 9 but that was not water slides that was 10. We did the aquarium and went to beach area all ready for slides. The Lazy River is wonderful! We had some rain but as someone else said, we were wet so what/ We did not have a bad storm (no lightning)so never had to leave the water. I would allow an hr for return trip to ship, traffic, lines of people for other ships in port. Better be safe than miss the ship.

Hi Angelo, We are on the Allure in a few weeks too. We decided that it's not worth it for such a short time. We did that excursion a few years ago when it cost about 2/3 of what it does now. I might have chosen to do it again, even at the exorbitant price they want now, IF we were staying in Nassau till at least 6 or 7, but definitely not with the ship leaving at 2pm.

BTW, I agree that it's a long walk from the beach, pool and slide areas back to the place where you would get the taxi, or shuttle back to the ship. Give that at least 20 minutes. And you must be on the ship at least half hour before it's scheduled to leave port. (Sometime they ask for an hour.). In good traffic, allow 30 minutes for the ride back to the pier. And don't forget that the Nassau pier is one of the longest ones around, so walking it's length needs at least another 20 minutes. So you should be out of the water, (and changed if you intend to) and belongings gathered up and on your way to the shuttle stop, by about 12:15. Btw hubby and I spent about an hour or more just looking around the "Diggs" (the aquarium) and the beautiful grounds. That doesn't leave much time to enjoy the pool, slides and beach. Also I think there's a lunch included in there, (not much to speak of, btw) but takes up a little of your short time there.

No definitely not worth it.

Let me rephrase that - highly recommend renting a locker for your belongings if everyone is using the water features so that you have peace of mind that your belongings are secured. LONG walk from water park to return bus - thru a very chilly casino/hotel (especially w/ wet swimsuit under cover-up).....makes you walk a LOT faster! :)

Stay on the ship and enjoy the empty ship.
