Shoot, just made it back in time to see the Zaandam leave. Sounds like it was a good sailaway.:)

Grand toots befitting a ship starting out on a grand journey. The Zaandam's first port of call is Aruba, but I think there are 3 ships there that day, so I'm not sure what a sailaway may be like. Thank you Lou and Dave, and thanks all for staying around. It wouldn't be a party if nobody came.

We did back to back cruises on the Zaandam -- June 10 and June 17, 2000.

This voyage of the Maasdam is the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise. So if you listen very carefully you might hear Ruthie Foster just taking the stage now...

 

The Jolly Roger should be flying now and yep there will be smoke on the Maasdam ;)

 

Tomorrow the sail about 4pm from Key West. then off to New Orleans and Progreso Mexico.

What is with all the coverings at the stern of the Maasdam?

The stage set up. The pool was covered to make a dance floor.

 

Usually around the basketball court is a big banner that says "our ship kicks ass".

 

The Jolly Roger should be up the flag pole as well ;)

 

It will be a fun and wild week on the Maasdam. Time for everyone to party, break out the red bull and expresso beans!
