PathfinderEss Posted October 18, 2013 #227 Share Posted October 18, 2013 Shoot, just made it back in time to see the Zaandam leave. Sounds like it was a good sailaway.:)
Rare rafinmd Posted October 18, 2013 Author #228 Share Posted October 18, 2013 Grand toots befitting a ship starting out on a grand journey. The Zaandam's first port of call is Aruba, but I think there are 3 ships there that day, so I'm not sure what a sailaway may be like. Thank you Lou and Dave, and thanks all for staying around. It wouldn't be a party if nobody came. Roy

Krazy Kruizers Posted October 18, 2013 #230 Share Posted October 18, 2013 Not only was the Zaandam the first ship I sailed on, I was on her fourth voyage. We did back to back cruises on the Zaandam -- June 10 and June 17, 2000. Small world.

rkacruiser Posted October 18, 2013 #232 Share Posted October 18, 2013 Not only was the Zaandam the first ship I sailed on, I was on her fourth voyage. Could we have been on the same voyage? I was aboard during the 4th of July holiday that first Summer.

I wasn't on CC at that time though. All I remember it was in June.

sun~ Posted October 19, 2013 #242 Share Posted October 19, 2013 This voyage of the Maasdam is the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise. So if you listen very carefully you might hear Ruthie Foster just taking the stage now... The Jolly Roger should be flying now and yep there will be smoke on the Maasdam ;) Tomorrow the sail about 4pm from Key West. then off to New Orleans and Progreso Mexico. I hope the weather is good for the week!

sun~ Posted October 19, 2013 #244 Share Posted October 19, 2013 What is with all the coverings at the stern of the Maasdam? The stage set up. The pool was covered to make a dance floor. Usually around the basketball court is a big banner that says "our ship kicks ass". The Jolly Roger should be up the flag pole as well ;) It will be a fun and wild week on the Maasdam. Time for everyone to party, break out the red bull and expresso beans!
Rare rafinmd Posted October 19, 2013 Author #245 Share Posted October 19, 2013 FYI, the Maasdam is just arriving in Key West. http://keywestharborwebcam.com/ I'll set up the sailaway page after Lou and Dave do their facebook page. There are conflicting times for the Maasdam's departure time and I want to see what they say. Roy
