MLife Gold BECAUSE of being RCCL Diamond

Recommended Posts

Question... I'm mLife gold because of my diamond status with Royal. Now, I received something from mLife saying I get drink coupons, specialty dining, etc as a perk on RCCL for being Gold mLife. So.. is that true? You receive reciprocal benefits even though you became 1 because of the other?

I have been hearing this from a few different people but it does seem to be the case. I am just going on my first RCL cruise so I don't get near the perks you get. I think I get a free couponbook.

Enjoy the free perks!

Okay so I joined MLife, but how do you get them to recognize your status on Royal so that your tier with them goes up? I'm assuming when you're diamond or diamond+ on Royal, they don't leave you at Sapphire on MLife, but I can't find anyplace to put in a partner relationship.

I called the 800 number and they have a prompt for Royal Caribbean. You will need your Crown and Anchor number and they will upgrade your statue over the phone.

I sent them and email with my C&A number and they updated my status the same day.

Great, going to get them my C&A number now.

So what happens the next time I have a cruise booked? Do I have to let RC know that I'm an MLife member, to get drink coupons or something else, like the OP got? I can see how MLife would know from your membership with them what your status is, but how do you get RC to acknowledge your status with MLife in the other direction?

The way I understand it...

If you are diamond, then you get the C&A coupon book at the beginning of each cruise. Because of your C&A level, you are an "honorary" MLife Gold member, and receive the same perks as those who earned their Gold status.

If you are an MLife member, you get an "honorary" C&A status, and coupons for your cruise. I believe that one of the MLife levels will also get you a free cruise.

So I am Royal Diamond and I just showed my C&A page at the MLife desk when I was at the Luxor a few months ago and they gave me an MLife Gold card.

Recently they offered Hyatt Platinum status for anyone that was MLife Gold. So now I am Hyatt Platinum even though I have not stayed at one in years. Some nice benefits like free WiFi.

I think you can show your MLife Gold Card (or other proof like a printout from the MLife web site) to the Casino manager on board and you will get some free drink coupons. Have not tried it yet. Will find out in February.

Royal Benefits and M-life Benefits are not combinable. Its one or the other. Choose wisely. :) such as Balcony discount can be used with M-life free drinks and dinners.

I plan on updating my platinum MLife status in january when out in vegas. We were told at the Bellagio that we would have to show our RCCL status each year to get a new card as they put the dates on their cards and their tier status runs thru October of each year. I don't think they understand my status isn't changing with RCCL lol but what ever. Have also had others here on CC say they just showed their MLife card to the casino manager to get drink coupons and so forth.

Cant wait until my next cruise to try this. We are diamond +

Is there somewhere that shows what is combinable and what is not? I just signed up for MLife and am on hold with MLife to give them my C&A #'s so we get the D+ status with MLife.

Well, they don't mail you cards, but she said just to take a screen shot of our account status with us on the ship. She also said the ship would be able to pull up the information

so we are Platinum with MLife since we are D+ with Royal. So according to the benefits we should get 10 drink vouchers each and free specialty dining for one dinner.

Has anyone actually experienced these benefits? We go on Brilliance in 4 weeks and I would like to take advantage of these extra perks just don't know how to go about it once I am on the ship. Can anyone help with this?

Since I won't claim any Mlife benefits until I am on board, the balcony discount will already be applied. If the casino manager wants to check and deny me any Mlife benefits, so be it. But I would be very surprised!

We are Diamond with RCI and will be staying in Vegas at the Signature at MGM Grand in January. We booked through the M-Life program. Do I show them anything when I check in? My C&A page on the RCI site on my phone? This will be a new experience for us. I'm still not sure what the benefits will all be.......

That is exactly what I did. Pulled up my C&A status page on my phone and they were good with that (at the Luxor).

I am so excited. My mom is Platinum on MLife and that entitles her to a free 3, 4 or 5 day cruise in an ocean view cabin! We thought it was too good to be true, so we called up and inquired.

We are now booked on the 5 night Liberty of the Seas sailing on December 16 in an ocean view mid-ip cabin...plus we get all the perks that comes with it (10 drink coupons, free dinner, free background tour and even 30 mins of free internet, just to name a few)!
