MLife Gold BECAUSE of being RCCL Diamond

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the info. Was the dinner at Chops for two or just one?

It was for one....I was traveling with my mother who is in the thread's same mlife "situation" so she received one as well. Also, the casino manager gave my mother my five drink vouchers because she noticed I had the premium drink package, which I thought was nice of her.

Well so glad to hear of your success. Unfortunately I just returned today off the Liberty I also went to the Casino Hostess Her name was Bee at the start of the cruise. I showed her a copy of my membership off the website and also a copy of the emails that stated we were upgraded to Gold because of being Diamond. Well she took the information and said she would have to verify it with Mlife. Well it is Thanksgiving Day. I again talked to her again the next day and nothing in an email. So finally by the last day she touched base with me in a phone message and said that she heard nothing. Well she might as well called me a LIAR. I wrote a note to crown and anchor of course no response.

I am going on the Independence in March and maybe they have the program working better.

Sorry to hear this...it's terrible that they did this to you. We all know Royal's only consistent quality is their consistent inconsistency across ships, agents, and policies. You presented all the proof that she needed and she shouldn't have given you a problem. I spoke with Linda on the Independence, hopefully she will still be there for your cruise.

Just off the Grandeur, and if you use any type of C&A coupon or discount, you can not use any of the MLife benefits. The casino host sends an email to RCCL, and they verify if you are eligible to receive the benefits. We have one cruise next month and no coupon was used, and was told that I can use the benefits on that cruise.

I wrote to Royal about my trouble on the Liberty

They emailed me back, that because I had already gotten a balcony discount, I was not

able to get the Mlife benefits. Ok understand that, why did the Hostess not discuss this with me??? of course lack of information on her part.

But they advised me to call 888.561.2234 and talk to them about any future bookings. So I did and we are going in March on the Independence in an inside. So I talked to Richard Berghuis. He was nice enough to explain and because we are in an inside he will call and see if we are MLife members. And within hours he emailed me back and said I now have the Mlife number associated with that cruise and will receive the benefits. I am definitely taking a copy of that email with me.

So definitely if they check you cannot get double benefits. And this was a Book on Board, but this probably doesn't matter for the benefits.

I did say this in my Nov. 22 post. If you use your C&A balcony discount you forfeit the MLife benefits onboard. I will not get them on my next two cruises but will on my April cruise.

  • 3 months later...

My Milfe benefits with Club Royale at RCCL has been great. I have my dinner reservations (March 27, 2014) for 5 nights of my dining on the Quantum maiden voyage cruise and will get a comped dinner for two & free drinks. I am getting this also on my Vision Panama cruise, in a couple of weeks.

Now for those of you matching to Mlife, here are some things for Emerald/Diamond & above that you might like to know:

1. You can be status matched to Hyatt Platinum & Diamond status based on your Mlife tier. Those who travel with Hyatt know that this, is a BIG benefit!

2. Tier upgrade with Ameristar Casinos nationwide.

3. Tier upgrade with Dover Downs Casino/Hotel, plus free room & $25 freeplay.

Once you get your MLife Benefit, Hyatt will only give top tier Platinum (not Diamond). As a D+ member and Platinum Mlife, I wish Hyatt would have given me Diamond. I'll be in Taipei in a couple of weeks for two weeks+, and a Platinum membership doesn't give me access to the executive lounge :(

The following table illustrates the reciprocal Hyatt Gold Passport membership tier offered to M life members:

Noir Membership -Platinum Membership

Platinum Membership -Platinum Membership

Gold Membership -Platinum Membership

Pearl Membership -Base Membership

Sapphire Membership - Base Membership

Have you called Dover Downs. We visit family in Delaware and called them. They said they were no longer associated with MLife. Well I said it is on the website. But they said not. I was disappointed wanted to stay for a couple days.

Just came off the explorer we are diamond and before we left I made call's to M life and royal to set everything up for our cruise. Thinking we would be gold as the person I spoke to at M life BUT guess what when we got on the ship and spoke to the casino manager thinking we get a dinner at portofino and a bottle of wine all we got was two free drink tickets WOW these two companies need to communicate better with each other. Would love to know how other people make out with this?????.

I just got off Explorer today. You don't get anything on the ship unless you earned your status with MLife gambling in their casinos.

But, if you have MLife status because of sailing on RCI, you will get benefits at MLife hotels, shows and casinos in Vegas. (upgrades, special check in, reduced rates, discount show tickets)

I got the MGM perks based on my Diamond Plus with Royal.

Those advantages have been great, and I have used a number

of them since I go to Vegas often.

But, (and it took 3 months to even get a card/membership)

Hyatt says that being Diamond Plus tier with RCL does not equal their

top tier level and so I am at their Platinum tier, and it took

2 more months to get that color card/level in their computer.

Tried to use it at a Hyatt in January, and got nothing--no upgrade,

no access to lounge, etc. Hotel was not sold out, and got no

explanation or help from management at the hotel.

So my next trip to that area will have me at another hotel (a Hyatt

competitor, but still several hundreds of $ a night)

that guaranteed me in writing of some upgrades based on my

loyalty program with their program.

Perks with Royal, with MGM, but not so much with Hyatt.

Congratulations! All I got on our cruise last month was an explanation by the casino manager that I get absolutely nothing, even though we're RCI diamond. I spent every night and all day on our 2 sea days in the casino and didn't even get. Free drink.

I'm Emerald (will be diamond next cruise) I spent nights and quite a bit of time during the day in the casino, and all I got was a couple of lousy tee shirts to add to my collection, and a $5.00 bill. Lost lots of money, but at least I have fun trying to win, and consider it part of my entertainment budget on my cruise.

It took me several weeks of emails to finally get my M Life Platinum based on my RCL Diamond Plus.

I'll call that number that was given on here and see if I can get on a list for my cruise on 5/3, I have an interior, have not used any C & A discounts and their coupon book is really worthless for me, so if I can get a free restaurant voucher that would be nice. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

I called before my Explorer cruise last week, and so did 2 others from the roll call. We were all told the same thing, unless you earn your MLife status from gambling at their casinos there are no perks. I was also told the same thing on the ship.

There was some confusion in the beginning when the program first came out, and some people did get perks, but no more.

This is what I found on the Website for MLife. Sounds to me you must get your tier level from gambling not just because you are a certain level on Royal.

It still depends on how the casino host manages it and will vary by ship. I am Gold MLife due to being emerald with RCI. On our last cruise we had 2 cabins and I was booked in an inside with my son. We did not have any C&A discounts applied. I saw the casino host the first day and gave her my Mlife member number. She had me wait a day while she e mailed but then provided me with 5 drink coupons.

We don't often have a cabin that we can take advantage of this and I don't expect it but I will check with the casino host and if I get anything then it is a bonus.

You got benefits from your Dec or March cruise? From recent comments it looks to me that Royal is doing more to check who gets what now then they did last Nov. when this thread started. I'm hoping to get benefits too as I'm D+ and it sure looks inviting

It worked perfectly for me in Jan and Feb. Drink coupons, extra Internet, free dinner for two at Chops etc but now they appear to be checking more into your status. If you got your m-life status because of your C&A status and are getting Balcony discounts already, then you get no perks. I did not get anything on Oasis last week.

It was from the March cruise.

We are planning on using our Mlife benefits for the first time at the Signature in Vegas in November... For us, we would not have planned the trip otherwise since we normally do our gambling in Shreveport. Frequently.:o It's less than an hour drive. So, the program did get us to Vegas where we wouldn't normally go.

However, since we usually get the balcony discount and we typically only gamble on the ship in between other events to blow some time...it will reduce our shipboard gambling budget.

IF we were to get Mlife benefits on the ship... or at the very least, have our play rated at the tables, we would probably play more on the ship.

Currently, the only way the ship rates you is if you play at least $25 per hand. In Vegas, that is a worthwhile bet... on the ship, no so much (ship hits soft 17 & the other players will split tens  & other crazy :D stuff)...so we pull back to more conservative play.

So far, our Mlife gift from RCI has saved us on our hotel room $127 plus the free upgraded room (1br suite was same price as regular Jr suite) value difference of $50/day. I already have an extra $ 277 win!

Also, I see on the Mlife site that Southwest (partners) will give 600 bonus rewards points per stay when you fly SW. (Subject to restrictions.)

MAYBE this trip to Vegas will put us on the actual earned Platinum list & we will qualify for real Mlife? It could become a vacation tradition... go to Vegas before getting on the ship each year!

The Beau Rivage in Biloxi and Gold Strike near Memphis are also MGM properties. Should be able to enjoy some of those MLife benefits a little closer to home too :)
