MLife Gold BECAUSE of being RCCL Diamond

Recommended Posts

Could someone explain how to take a screenshot of the account page? I don't know how and have been unable to figure it out as I can't find anything other than print.

I'll help you out :D

Go to your MLife account page. On your keyboard look for the Print Screen button (usually abbreviated as PrtSc). To take a screenshot of your account page, hold down the ALT key and then press the PrtSc button. Now to retrieve that screenshot, go into the Paint program (assuming you are using Windows), and paste the image onto the screen. The easiest way to paste is to hold down the CTRL key and then press the V key. Now you can print out your screenshot and get your benefits at the Casino :)

I am Mlife Platinum, This is the first time we are cruising with RCCL., What will my Mlife Platinum Status equate to with Crown and Anchor, Gold or Diamond or D+ ?

Thanks

By being a Mlife Platinum, you'll receive a lot of benefits that the Crown and Anchor members get, as well as some that are exclusive to MLife members (ie. the complimentary dinner in the specialty restaurants as well as the drink vouchers). You can find all of your benefits here, http://www.royalcaribbean.com/contentWithGallery.do?pagename=mgm_partnership.

You won't receive the equivalent status though. So by being Platinum, you're not automatically placed at a matching Crown and Anchor level like Diamond or Diamond +. By being Platinum, your benefits will roughly equal the C&A Diamond level (you won't get all the benefits of that level though like the Diamond Lounge and other things). By keeping your MLife Platinum status, you'll keep receiving your complimentary 3-5 Night RCL Cruise every year.

Can I combine my Diamond status with Mlife without gambling in Las Vegas?

Can I combine my Diamond status with Mlife without gambling in Las Vegas?

Yes, you can do it in one of two ways.

1. You can sign up for an MLife account online. Then once you get your MLife number, send an email to comments@mlife.com asking to be upgraded from Sapphire (the base level of MLife) to Gold (the level you'll get from being a Diamond C&A member). Don't forget to include your new MLife number and C&A number. Then, when you're in Vegas, pick up your new Gold MLife card and enjoy the benefits.

2. You can create an MLife account in the casino of any MGM owned resort. Show them proof that you're a Diamond member and receive your new Gold MLife card.

No need to gamble at all!

Here's a list of the MLife benefits...

I am totally confused. Called the MLife Royal phone number. That person said that as a

Diamond I get nothing with my Mlife Gold status card.

she says I would have had to gamble in Las Vegas to get anything.

Now what is the story. I have a print out of being gold and how can they tell where I got it.

I hope someone can help with clarifying this for us.

She probably meant you won't receive any comps in their resorts (free dinners, free show tickets) that you would ordinarily receive from earning your gold status by gambling there from the tier credits earned.

However, you will get the benefits of being an MLife Gold member. Some highlights include free room upgrades (if available), Buffet Line Pass, discounted show tickets, and a 10% discount in some of their shops.

I may as well mention this here too...

Once you become Diamond Plus, you'll be an MLife Platinum member. Then you'll get access to a secret benefit that's not listed on the MLife site and not too many people know about. You'll be able to get up to four free tickets each to the Secret Garden at the Mirage, The Fine Art Gallery at the Bellagio, and the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. The four ticket limit resets monthly, so you'll be able to take advantage of this every time you visit Vegas.

Those are great perks. We live in Las Vegas and could really use this. How did you find out about this?

I actually needed to earn 3.800 air miles to maintain status by the end of Dec., so I just booked a short weekend to Vegas in a couple of weeks to physically pick up my MLife Platinum card (required to pick it up in person and show govt. photo ID). I don't like the idea of screen printing the MLife account page. I also had an expiring Marriott certificate I need to use. So it all worked out.

I read about and plan to take advantage of the secret garden and shark reef. While I'm at the Mlife desk I plan to ask about any shows I might get discounted, and/or I'll hit up the Tix4Tonight line. I love Vegas, so it wasn't a hard arm twist to find a good reason to hop on over there. I also plan to go back there later in the year with my daughter and maybe I'll take advantage of their discounted hotel rates.

I did call royal but was told if I wanted the Mlife benefits on board my December or Feb cruise, I'd lose my balcony discount. But I have an promenade cabin for April so she said I can take the MLife benefits for that but she needed to associate my MLife number to that cruise reservation and she couldn't find it. The rep said MLife sends them an updated list every couple of months. Another reason I prefer to have my membership card in hand.

I'm excited....Las Vegas AND a cruise both in December.

I researched about it on various Vegas message boards and was skeptical since it wasn't listed as a benefit on the MLife site. But once when I was in Vegas, I asked about it at the MLife desk and they told me it was true.

It's four free tickets per MLife Platinum card and it resets every month. So, a married couple who are both Platinum can score up to eight tickets per month between the two of them. This is great if you want to have a free family outing at one of these places as the admission fees can be pretty steep. To use this benefit, simply show up at the attraction, go to the "already have reservations" ticket booth, and show them your MLife card/s and driver's license (they'll ask for both), and then tell them how many tickets you'll need. You can say four or eight, and it's as simple as that. The tickets aren't limited in use only by you (they don't have your name on them), and they have a one year expiration date.

Thank you for the great information. I decided to go ahead and sign up for MLife since I have an upcoming stay at the Bellagio in a few months. I have emailed to link my diamond status from RCI to get the gold card and hopefully score a complimentary upgrade when I check-in. I have paid extra in the past to get a fountain view, but maybe this time I can avoid the extra charges.

Thank you Jsauerwald...can you post to this thread (hopefully you can find it when you return) and let us know what you did, what you showed and if you got anything?

Have a great cruise!!!

Just off the Independence yesterday...amazing cruise! I had no problems getting the benefits. I printed out my mlife account info from their website which showed my name and gold tier status. I went to the casino and requested to speak with the casino manager/host. She came right over, explained the benefits and went to her desk to take care of it. She returned about three minutes later with the 5 drink comp cards (can only use at the casino bar) and with a casino royale VIP sticker for my sea pass. She said she had to print the voucher for the complimentary specialty dinner (went to Chops...beyond amazing) and that she could send it to the stateroom or I could pick it up in the morning from the cashier. It was with the cashier when I returned the next morning about 11am. No issues at all. She commented that it was a good idea that I had my printout as it would save her time verifying me with mlife.

Thanks for the follow-up! Glad you had a great cruise.

Did you use any C&A benefits such as a balcony discount for this cruise? Just curious. Thanks.

Appreciate the report very much. I signed up for mlife as I have a trip to vegas with lots of shows and dinners. I don't ever gamble on the cruise, but drink vouchers and dinner sounds like one heck of a perk.

Does anyone else think this is kind of crazy? Don't tell RCI or Mlife, but extra free stuff for being something that I already was...

From what I have seen on this thread you can't combine your C&A discounts with the MLife perks. since we are Diamond and have the Diamond balcony discount I don't believe I will be collecting any MLife perks on my next cruise. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

We are going to Vegas for the first time and I did reserve a room at the Signature at the MGM Grand through the MLife and RCI program. I received two nights at the hotel for $150 (inclusive of taxes and fees) plus a $150 resort credit through the program. Once I check in I will see if there are any other perks that we can take advantage of. We don't gamble, so we would not have been MLife members without RCI.

The way it looks to me is that this reciprocal agreement between RCI and the MLife people allows the Vegas loyalists who don't cruise regularly a chance to receive otherwise unearned perks on an RCI ship (an therefore increase sales on RCI) and likewise allows the RCI loyalists to visit Vegas with perks they would not have without MLife (this increasing the MGM hotels revenues). It worked for us. We wouldn't have booked this upcoming trip to Vegas without the deal we got through the MLife program.

Thanks for the info. Was the dinner at Chops for two or just one?

Sunny AZ Girl, I'm pretty sure you will get the dinner and drinks. We did under the circumstances as you are in--please see my detailed post earlier in this thread about how we benefited both on board ship and in Vegas.

The thing is, your balcony discount and coupon book are C&A benes. The specialty dinner and comp drinks are MLife perks. There is no prohibitive combining of benefits. But if they had given you another coupon booklet, that would've been a no-no. Folks who are "real" MLifers and have no C&A status get a C&A coupon booklet based on their MLife status.

So what is the bar like in the casino, where I will be having my free drinks?:D

Sounds like a Chops bonus. Wonder if I can pick up the dinner voucher for the first night?

In my case, I was booked at the Bellagio anyway ... but the discount show tickets have my attention. We really weren't planning on a show, but once we get closer to our stay, I'll be looking at the available shows to see what's available. If you're going to a show in Vegas ... you're going to look twice at the ones that can be had at a discount.

Well so glad to hear of your success. Unfortunately I just returned today off the Liberty I also went to the Casino Hostess Her name was Bee at the start of the cruise. I showed her a copy of my membership off the website and also a copy of the emails that stated we were upgraded to Gold because of being Diamond. Well she took the information and said she would have to verify it with Mlife. Well it is Thanksgiving Day. I again talked to her again the next day and nothing in an email. So finally by the last day she touched base with me in a phone message and said that she heard nothing. Well she might as well called me a LIAR. I wrote a note to crown and anchor of course no response.

I am going on the Independence in March and maybe they have the program working better.

I agree, and then when you add in the perks you can get with the myvegas app or Facebook game, it makes the MGM resorts very attractive.
