I had no intention of adding confusion to the subject – it is quite simple for most. M life players get benefits their first time on RCL and the benefits are generous.

By your reasoning only a patron of a specific cruise line should get any benefit and no reciprocal benefits, regardless if they are from another cruise line, hotel/casino property, airline, credit card etc., should be awarded. So, by your reasoning, any M Life player should not be entitled to any RCL benefits.

Once again, if your benefits are not affected, why does it matter what others receive?

M

It is immaterial if, or not, ones benefits are lost, as the discussion was solely on the subject of how points are calculated for Elite status, and the best way to cull Elites and D's

M like players are those who have generated status from gaming at MGM resorts/properties. I've copied and pasted the benefits as listed on the RCCL website . In addition to those listed, specific playing level also awards a free three or four night cruise. Benefits are more generous than for many loyal RCCL patrons - and that is great for those players who qualify.

Royal Caribbean International® and MGM Resorts International® have partnered to bring the best in cruise vacations and at-sea casinos to M life members. Through this exclusive partnership, M life members will receive offers and onboard benefits on Royal Caribbean International’s portfolio of innovative ships.

Royal Caribbean Benefits for M life Members

•Priority check-in

•Up to 15 onboard drink vouchers

Interesting......

6. Loyalty guests must book before 31st December 2013 to qualify for the bonus 25 tier points.

The suits in Miami have to be thrilled with this. Wonder whose head is going to roll.

Indeed. But the internet is a wonderful thing, isn't it? If you do a search in google images, you can find some interesting information. For those of us who are on the more "nerdy" side of "geek," there is an interesting url associated with the images that leads me to believe it's a development website that is being put together for a future launch... password protected and all of that.

But, again, the internet being what it is, images appear with the following information: Zenith level at 3000+ points and Elite+ level at 750-2999 points.

That's a hefty reach for me, as bad as Pinnacle over at Royal. Not achievable, for me, really, especially if you think that the 750 will come from nights at sea. In 7 years of cruising, I've been on the sea a little more than 7 months, which is only 210 nights. That's cruising at the rate of about a month a year, or the equivalent of 2 transatlantics a year. Just don't see us increasing that any time soon.

So, although the topic interested me... if what I'm seeing is anywhere close to being what is going to happen... I'll be losing interest in this conversation very quickly as it will not be relevant to me any longer.

If the 750 point entry level for the next tier is correct, there will be many disappointed people who thought the new levels would mirror the Royal Caribbean tiers.

if it's 750 points, they clearly are using some different criteria than RCL. Should be interesting to see how they convert current points to the new points.

Or Celebrity put in junk numbers for the reason it can be accessed by the outside world or by "those on the nerdy side of geek.";)

Your may have speculated the qualifying levels much too high or X will be using different point criteria as RC Crown & Anchor requires 175 cruise points for Diamond+ and 700 for Pinnacle status. Below is from http://www.royalcaribbean.com/cas/benefitsLoggedout.do

After 175 completed cruise points they are eligible to become Diamond Plus members. And those who have 700 or more completed cruise points are eligible to become Pinnacle Club members.;)

Now that is fun speculation!

With all the problems that Celebrity has with their current website, maybe it's not a stretch to think that they are very forward thinking? Although I have to admit, the thought of them putting a lot of effort into the cloak-and-dagger, maybe-someone-will-find-this-image side of things just never crossed my mind!

Thanks for the giggle.

No speculation re: numbers. Just looking at images and seeing the numbers displayed there. Although, rumor has it... that maybe this is a clever ruse on the part of Celebrity to keep us nerds in line. (see posts above!) :D

What keywords did you have to insert in the google search bar to locate the images? How far into the selection of returned images was the particular image that held those numbers?

Thanks. :)

I say....

750 "points" would correspond with 25 credits in the current system.

3000 "points" would correspond with 100 credits in the current system.

?

I agree which means it's probably not right :)

assuming that the UK wanted to give away one extra 7 day's cruise's tier points as a bonus, that would imply 25 tier points per current "old" point. That would equate to a conversion of 30 times your number of "old" points.....or 25 "old" points to be elite+ or 100 "old" points to be zenith level.
