Krazy Kruizers Posted December 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2013 When Aliaschief returned from his Nieuw Amsterdam cruise, he reported that the price of the Pinnacle Grill was going up to $29 beginning on Dec 28. Well -- I just finished making a couple of reservations and the new price is already in place.
GmaPajama Posted December 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2013 Interesting. I just made a reservation for February 3rd, and was charged $25 per person. I still thought it a bargain, as it was $30 when we first cruised HAL.
rucrazy Posted December 23, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2013 Did you notice where An Evening at Le Cirque is now $49.00 per person?
sail7seas Posted December 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 23, 2013 (edited) Happy you got your reservation at the old price, Donna. Sorry you just missed it, KK, but as Five Star we do get some free Pinnacle dinners. :) Of course, Donna's Four Stars earns a nice discount, also. Rare kazu Posted December 23, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2013 Well, I am glad I warned my roll calls :D Those that moved saved a couple of $. We got ours at the old price thanks to the Chief's heads up.
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 23, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted December 23, 2013 (edited) Did you notice where An Evening at Le Cirque is now $49.00 per person? Le Cirque is now listed as $49. Canaletto is still listed as $10. Edited December 23, 2013 by Krazy Kruizers
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 23, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted December 23, 2013 A couple of weeks ago I booked all the reservations for our spring cruise at the old price. Last week I booked some of our fall Pinnacle's at the old price. Last night we finally made up our minds which other nights we wanted to go there. Krazy Kruizers Posted December 23, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted December 23, 2013 So HAL has raised the Pinnacle and Le Cirque. Since the ships we are scheduled to sail on do not have the Tamarind, I don't know if that has gone up in price. Maybe someone booked on either the Eurodam or the Nieuw Amsterdam can answer that question. And until people start coming back and reporting in, we don't know if the Pinnacle lunch has been raised and if HAL will now charge for the Tamarind lunch. George C Posted December 23, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 23, 2013 I have no plans on sailing Hal soon ( do to change in wine policy) but I do think Pinnacle is worth the 29, doubt I would pay 49 for Le Cirque.
IRL_Joanie Posted December 23, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 23, 2013 .........just how cheap the pricing is Ship vs Land. I think even with the new price increases, it is still an excellent price for all venues. I know that on land I'd pay a heck of a lot more for an equivalent meal. And, with the Mariner discounts, HAL is literally giving away these various specialty restaurant meals:) I, for one, will not complain:) Joanie
KirkNC Posted December 23, 2013 #11 Share Posted December 23, 2013 Well we will pay that for Pinnacle but I think LC is close to pricing itself out of what we consider the value.
startwin Posted December 23, 2013 #12 Share Posted December 23, 2013 I did my reservations last week when AliasChief mentioned the price was increasing. You can't really compare it to shore restaurants in pricing because you've already paid for your food in your cruise fare, you're basically paying extra for a nicer setting and only the passenger can decide if its worth it to them. Looks like they jumped the gun for bookings online KK, too bad.
GmaPajama Posted December 23, 2013 #13 Share Posted December 23, 2013 ... Of course, Donna's Four Stars earns a nice discount, also. Indeed it does. Plus, this trip we were gifted 2 Pinnacle Dinners, one from Amex, one from TA, so we'll be doing some mighty fine dining. :)

musicismylife Posted December 23, 2013 #16 Share Posted December 23, 2013 I booked our Pinnacle dinners on the Westerdam in March yesterday morning and they were still at the old price. Thanks everyone for the heads ups!
Rare LAFFNVEGAS Posted December 23, 2013 #17 Share Posted December 23, 2013 I for one agree that the price of $29 is a bargain.... yes I know it is easy for me to say since we are 4 star :o But I will admit the $10 PP increase in Le Cirque seems a bit extreme. I think that is the one night they have more problems filling the Pinnacle on many sailings, increasing the price will not be helping. I am glad we we reserved and purchased our Le Cirque in advance :)
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 23, 2013 Author #18 Share Posted December 23, 2013 The majority of the restaurants we go to charge around $40 for the entrée. Salads, sides, desserts, etc. are all extra with most starting at $10 a piece for each extra item. Le Cirque -- as much as we love it -- and even though we get 50% off -- with few choices we will think if we will book it in the future. Thankfully we had already pre-booked them. PathfinderEss Posted December 23, 2013 #20 Share Posted December 23, 2013 This is so interesting, when we were on the Statendam last week they told us the Pinnacle charge was going up but they said not until March. Guess they were wrong.
mamaofami Posted December 23, 2013 #21 Share Posted December 23, 2013 I booked for February at the old price. Unfortunately, I didn't get me act together for the rest of that cruise. But, I don't think the price is excessive for a really good meal.
debijaynes Posted December 23, 2013 #22 Share Posted December 23, 2013 (edited) For our 14 day Norway cruise in June we booked the Pinnacle for every night-cirque included. A small price to pay for service and atmosphere. Same table, same server and spectacular service at that. alwaysfrantic Posted December 23, 2013 #23 Share Posted December 23, 2013 The $29 is fine but I would not pay $49 for LeCirque. It just wasn't that good. It was good, but so is the main dining room. It's not significantly better than regular PG, if any.
