Adrian was my first ever experience with a concierge

It also was my first cruise, i sailed solo in a suite

believe it or not i didn't know anything about the suite perks(duh) and then i met Adrian

He looked out for me because i was alone and made sure i was invited to all suite perks etc

Sailed with him twice and he is just the best

Yes, he did and I think his sister as well.

Christina is still with the company. She got promoted to be a Fleet Host spending some time at HQ and some time checking on the ships. Lots of work establishing protocols since they are cutting their staff on big ships in half. I talked to her in May and she said that Adrian was doing well.

in what way? I’ll admit I haven’t been following NCL as much as I used to.

The most visible impact has been cabin stewards and entertainment, the stewards are now servicing about double the amount of cabins and the entertainment casts are being cut down as contracts come up for renewal.

I did see that most of the broadway type shows seem to be axed.

Couple of observations….

1.  The shows that have contracts that are expiring are being replaced by internally developed shows vs paying for Broadway/Vegas shows.  I’ve seen some of NCL’s newer shows (Syd Norman’s shows comes to mind).  They’re excellent!  Anxious to see the big theater productions they’re bringing to their stages.

2.  True, room stewards have more cabins to take care of, but they’re only cleaning them once/day instead of twice per day.

Just thought I’d add some perspective!

that makes sense. That’s really no different than what other cruise lines are doing now anyway. I’m assuming suite/Haven still get 2x service if requested?

Every department was given a cost cutting goal and they have been implemented those cuts.

For the Casino, on big ships there used to be an Executive Host, Senior Host and two hosts. Already implemented in Europe, the casinos on big ships will be cut to an Executive Host and Senior Host. I assume that also comes with a cut in services. There are rumored more drastic cuts on casino benefits moving forward.

The BEST Haven Concierge in the entire NCL Fleet.  Sorry he left NCL, but happy to hear he's doing well.

He really was.  I used to read about him all the time on this board.  So I had high expectations when he was our concierge on Getaway in 2015.  He exceeded those high expectations.  I am glad he is well.  I wish they could clone him and make him the concierge on every ship.

Very interesting!   It will be interesting to see if casino benefits change.

I am happy with the CasinoNext program and have used several certificates from that already.   Maybe it's more of a 'comp yourself' program?

I recently saw an announcement on a social media site that Adrian has returned as Executive Concierge on board Oceania Regatta. Wishing him much success and all the best!

That would be great if he returned to the NCL family, even though it’s Oceania.
