Celebrity Casino Slot Jackpots in 2013/2014

Now that 2013 is behind us, has there been any Celebrity casino slot winners out there for 2013/14 and what slot machines have you played? I have reviewed cruise critic sites that indicate large winners on other cruise lines but Celebrity seems to be non existent. Has Celebrity curtailed large payouts in favor of revenue generation. Looking for comments from 2013/2014 winners. Share your stories. Thanks.

I played the max of 3 credits. Hit 2 cherries and the machine showed that I had won 2. According to my math I lost 1.

Played video poker. Played 5 credits. Got a pair or kings. "Won" 5 credits when acutally all I got was my money back.

Now let's say that I was playing dollars. The casino would announce that they have paid out $7 in total winnings. Somehow though when I walked out I was a $1 poorer than when I went in although according to their logic I was $7 richer. 💰

I have noticed on the daily sheet the winnings have been significantly lower than in the past...not ony on my recent cruise, but also on the ones posted here on CC. The machines didn't seem to be paying out much...I was not the only one to notice this.

I am not a slots player and don't really understand how it supposedly pays out but I did make friends with a guy and his mother on my last cruise who are big slots players. They both said that Celebrity slot machines are REALLY tight and they usually make some money but over all they were not worth playing compared to land based casinos.

I think your observations are right. I see very few big wins. I spend a lot of time there and a lot of money there. I am a Blue Chipmember. On occaision have seen a win for a couple hundred dollars, but beyond that nothing. The payouts printed in Celebrity Life are unbelievably low considering the amount of money they take in per day. Contrast that with NCL, where I have been present for a number of jackpot wins and I myself won jackpots on my last two cruises.....

They are probably the worst of any cruisline, and they are definitely nothing like a good land based slot machine. The payouts just aren't set the same and in fairness to Celebrity there is no need for them to set them consistent with AC or Las Vegas because they are not regulated by a gaming commission.

But where will I be most nights? Yep...the casino!!!!

On the 2nd formal night of my Jan 4 Summit cruise, I hit a slot jackpot for $2250.00. I'm hoping that my MDR tablemates who might see this can send me the pictures they took of me celebrating. Lenny, Dave, Ron??????

I did quite well on the Reflection last April. I didn't hit the jackpot, but hit enough bonus rounds (and knew when to walk) that I made $1500 on putting a 20 in the machine. Went to the 3rd floor the next morning and paid my seapass off (spa, ultimate dining, etc.) I was a HAPPY sailor!!!

During our end of August cruise to Alaska, a fellow at the end of the electronic poker machines was "dealt" a Royal Flush right off the bat. He won about $2k, if I recall correctly. I included it in my review - a nice night for him! We lost about $20.

Any hints? Slots --

Is later in the cruise better than early?

Late in the day better than early?

Chairs on the outside better odds than inside?

#1 myth of slot machines, there is no little man behind a curtain changing the slot winnings. The machines are set at the factory and generally not changed during their lifetime. They don't have to change them, in the long run they win.

Oh well

Just have to limit my contribution

I don't hear about too many winners either ;)

Linda:

I had a ticket from the night before for $38.75. I was playing 3 quarters at a time and maybe 15 spins into the machine I hit 10x by 10x by triple bars for 9000 quarters. Just lucky and in the right spot at the right time. I also had some minor hits, playing half dollars, for $450 and $500. Certainly paid for the cruise and when I got home I booked a week in Punta Cana with the balance.

Any more slot winners out there in 2014? It appears that the maximum slot winnings is about $2250.00 to $2500.00. Hoping that Celebrity has loosened the machines for more substantial winnings!

Just so you are aware, they really can't loosen the machines unless they buy new machines or new Random Number Generators which are very expensive.

Dont know about Celebrity but the ones in Vegas are change from time to time. Its simply a change of chips in the machines. Some Casinos slots do pay better and are moved to locations where people will see them. I was good friends with a slot mgr and he said if the drop was too high they would change them. He said competition dictated when this would happen. But one thing for sure the casino has the edge, but they do control the payback.

That is not entirely true, yes the chip in the machine can be changed but that requires permission from the gaming commission and the chips are all held by the gaming commission. They will also be present when the chip is installed. The machine will also have to change signage to show the new payout schedule. It is a complicated process that is not done very often. Remember all slot machines and video poker are all controlled by a random number generator that chooses what you win. So in reality they do not control the payout. As far as winnings my wife hit two jackpots on the Century last September for 12000.00

My sister and I spend quite a bit of time in the casino as Blue Chip Club members, and during our Feb cruise on Equinox this year, we saw at least 6 winners of Royal Flushes for either $2000 or $4000, a win of $1650 on a penny machine, a woman was dealt 4 Aces with a kicker on three hand poker for $3000, another woman won $1200 on a Penguin penny machine, and there was someone who won $2300 on a 2 cent machine. There may have been others that we didn't see.

Not sure I agree with this, I've seen them set up machines for slot tounaments and if you've ever watched you see a lot of winners as the wheels spin and stop. I have always thought that the machines are looser the first night or two so the winners can spread the word around the ship and then they tighten them up.

Is that my computer fan or this thread?

Good to hear there are some winners. I seem to be a donor. Unfortunately I've never hit the big one, but I'm waiting for it. :)
