Can anybody tell me if this is allowed? We have always taken one, but I have been hearing different stories. Thanks for any information.

Thanks to you all. We also never had any problems, but I have heard that the power boards were confiscated. Might depend on the security officer?

Has nothing to do with security unless it it on a prohibited items list, and everything to do with the Chief Electro-Technical Officer.

They can create issues with onboard electrical systems.

Princess does not confiscate them unless there is an issue.

Small ones are usually permitted. Larger ones may be an issue in that they can allow too many devices to plug into on port.

I know many people on here, myself included, use the Belkin 3 port one.

They also should have some kind of circuit breaker or fusible link.

It is what we call in Canada a "power bar".

For us, a converter changes the type of plug needed in various countries.

Converters and inverters are electrical devices that convert current. Converters convert the voltage of an electric device, usually alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). On the other hand, inverters convert direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). See also AC vs DC  ;)

Adapters are for adapting one type of plug to another type like North American plug to UK, and / or European types.

Cato :)

I use to take a power strip but I just purchased the Belkin SurgePlus 3-Outlet Mini Travel Swivel Charger Surge Protector with Dual USB Ports (2.1 AMP / 10 Watt). It's a device that has a swivel plug and it's a surge protector with 3 outlets plus 2 USB ports for charging. I purchased mine from B & H photo with free shipping. I always keep mine in the desk drawer when not in use so as to not draw any questions.
