Favorite Card/Board game?

What's your favorite game to sit at a table and play with family and friends? I don't know what my ship will have in the gameroom. I've got UNO packed already, but I'm open to suggestions.

We are taking a cribbage board and cards.

I just bought a dice game called Left-Right-Centre, based on recommendations from another thread on these boards. We gave it a test run last week, and it's fast and fun.

 

We also like a card game called Pass The Ace, and all you need is a deck of cards. Very simple.

I like Phase 10 Twist and I can't wait to play out by the pool, in the shade, listening to the music :-)

When it's just the two of us, we can amuse ourselves with a deck of card which we find handy for airport layovers.

My craft store has game boards printed on cardstock in the scrapbooking section. I bought Scrabble, Monopoly and CandyLand for our albums... and then discovered that the Scrabble is regulation sized... it works with the regular wooden tiles.

 

Our battered scrabble board gets tucked into our suitcase every trip. Its creased and watermarked, but still playable.

We also have a deck of Uno cards... maybe 4 or 5 decks all mashed together -- some from the Uno Attack game, which has action cards like 'trade hands' and some that we changed with Sharpie marker -- you might have to Chicken Dance, or Yodel, or something else silly if that card gets played on you.

Yahtzee! 5 dice and a couple of scorecards are easy to transport. On our cruise to Alaska, all 4 of us got Yahtzee's in the same round... Wildest game ever.

When my traveling companion comes with me, we also carry our own cribbage board and cards

If you like Uno, you'll love Skip-Bo. It's a great card game. They sell it at Target.

I also play LCR (left-center-right), it's a dice game. We play it with dollar bills and each person plays with $3. It gets way too loud to play on a cruise ship - you'd think we were playing for millions - we play it after Christmas dinner. Very fun though!

Last few cruises we've played Mah Jongg, Phase 10 and Crazy 8s. Actually had to teach my friend how to play Crazy 8s.

 

Many games can be played with a deck or two of regular cards. Uno is just a form of Crazy 8s, the Phase 10 deck is 108 cards, same as two decks with jokers. (2-K, Aces are wild, Jokers are Skips)

Hubby and I play lots of gin rummy here at home as well as cribbage, Uno, & our variation of Skipbo.

But on cruise ships we don't play cards at all. On port days we are out and about. On sea days He socializes with other passengers and I find a quiet spot and read. He also joins casino tournaments on sea days.

Would I be likely to find a cribbage board for use on the ship (NCL Sky)? I love to play but don't really want to lug one around.

I like mahjongg but the ships don't always have a complete set. It is heavy and not convenient to pack. There are travel sets and cards but it is not the same.
