diane.in.ny Posted March 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Was wondering how many casual/informal/formal nights there would be on a 14 night cruise. Thanks! Diane
Rare WesW Posted March 18, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2014 fyi, pls see below & enjoy your cruise. Clothing Suggestions – Shipboard Attire Casual resort wear is appropriate for daytime aboard ship or ashore, and consists of standard sports outfits as worn at resorts. Shoes should be flat or low-heeled for deck activities. Evening attire falls into three categories: casual, informal and formal. On casual evenings, open-neck shirts, slacks and sports outfits are appropriate. On informal evenings, women usually wear dresses or trouser suits; gentlemen wear jackets (tie optional). Appropriate formal evening wear for women is an evening gown or cocktail dress; men wear tuxedos, dinner jackets or dark suits. On formal nights, guests dining in La Terrazza may opt to wear casually elegant attire (dresses or trouser suits for women; jacket, tie optional for men). Following dinner, all guests are free to take advantage of any or all of the public spaces for both entertainment or cocktails and after-dinner drinks. Sailings of eight days or less typically feature two formal nights, while longer voyages usually have three or four formal nights. Details will be provided in your final cruise documents, but the chart below provides a basic guideline to assist in packing your cruise luggage with the proper attire. diane.in.ny Posted March 18, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) Thanks! In your experience, do most of the women wear cocktail dresses on formal nights? I have very elegant slacks and tops to go with them. Would that be OK for a formal night? Edited March 18, 2014 by diane.in.ny
wripro Posted March 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Yes. You won't be the only lady in elegant slacks. Wear what makes you comfortable.

Emtbsam Posted March 18, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 18, 2014 On formal nights, you can certainly get away with silk pants and a fancy top. Many women do wear long gowns, some wear fancy shorter dresses and some wear slacks.

Wellseasoned Posted April 6, 2014 #15 Share Posted April 6, 2014 Nice pics, Wes! Especially enjoy the last one with Sommelier Mike holding up the bottle of Bottega Limoncino. Very tasty. Looks like a great meal and nicely demonstrates Informal dress! Please give our regards to Jorge, Mike, Gianni, etc. on your Cloud cruise next week.
