Rare John&LaLa Posted May 4, 2016 #2304 Share Posted May 4, 2016 Central Park Restaurants, and above them, CP balconies. I was referring to the voids in decks 6 and 7. It looks like a lot more Promenade cabins could go there

mooseman52b Posted May 5, 2016 #2306 Share Posted May 5, 2016 (edited) With the purple hue of the slide and the way the scales look on the fish it could be that sliding down the "Abyss" on a mat might be referred to as the "Grapes of Raft" Edited May 5, 2016 by mooseman52b

Lloyd555 Posted May 6, 2016 Author #2308 Share Posted May 6, 2016 I see Silk carpets, as well as the rounded walls of AI that you mentioned. Seems it is definitely decorated as three different themes. Hmmm. There's more than the Silk carpet... OfTheSeasCruiser Posted May 6, 2016 #2309 Share Posted May 6, 2016 Hmmm. There's more than the Silk carpet... Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk That is incredibly unfortunate. Silk's decor is hideous.
jules815 Posted May 6, 2016 #2310 Share Posted May 6, 2016 Let us switch from purple to green ... Foliage! I can't wait for the Harmony TA! Our room is on deck 8. :D
Biker19 Posted May 6, 2016 #2311 Share Posted May 6, 2016 That is incredibly unfortunate. Silk's decor is hideous. 6 ships in the fleet have it - the decorators must not think so.
Biker19 Posted May 6, 2016 #2312 Share Posted May 6, 2016 Foliage! I can't wait for the Harmony TA! Except it might be different foliage - someone reported most of that has to be taken off since it can't be brought to Florida.

Rare steamboats Posted May 6, 2016 #2315 Share Posted May 6, 2016 Except it might be different foliage - someone reported most of that has to be taken off since it can't be brought to Florida. Chef Landscaper Lazlo who inaugurated both the Oasis and Allure told us on the Oasis TA in 2014 that the US agricultuaral authorities do not allow any foreign plants onboard. Back then he was pretty worried about the plants during the dry dock in Rotterdam in October. And he was so sorry that he wasn´t allowed to buy any replacements in the Netherlands. Fortunately it wasn´t too cold and the plants did survive pretty well (many of them were stored in cabins during the dry dock). steamboats

Well if we were actually going to be served Asian cuisine while dining there, I might have a different opinion. It may be. . . but at least is isn't one of Joe Farcus' designs. That's a good way to look at it! ;)
ksg Posted May 6, 2016 #2318 Share Posted May 6, 2016 That is incredibly unfortunate. Silk's decor is hideous. I liked Silk's decor the best of the complimentary restaurants on Quantum and Anthem. The food on the other hand...

CRUISEFAN0001 Posted May 7, 2016 #2320 Share Posted May 7, 2016 Photo from Captain Johnny. Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk Thanks for posting that Lloyd! That certainly would eliminate us from ever getting a Boardwalk balcony with that cluttered view. UGH. We're sure the Abyss will be a big hit, but for those folks (like us) who have also appreciated the beautiful views on the Oasis class ships - this destroys that experience (at least from any Boardwalk view perspective). Luckily we prefer the outside balcony cabins. :)
papcx Posted May 7, 2016 #2321 Share Posted May 7, 2016 (edited) To be honest the Abyss structure and slides only really block the views of the diving platforms and Crown and Anchor. I don't think it's as big a deal as people are making out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited May 7, 2016 by papcx

adjjb12 Posted May 7, 2016 #2324 Share Posted May 7, 2016 I actually like it. I didn't think I would, but the view is not as bad as I thought it would be when they announced this slide.

I don't think it's as big a deal as people are making out. Respectfully disagree. This view will be sorely missed...it is (or will be) a big deal to plenty of folks. The gimmicky slides block the entire ocean and AquaTheater view.
