I probably will be booking my first Celebrity cruise tomorrow, we are a family of 7 and will have four cabins.

Two weeks ago we were on the Allure she was my 53rd cruise go figure haven't been on Celebrity it sure is time. We have questions if you can help us it be greatly appreciated, the ship we want to go on is the Silhouette.

1- Does anybody know whether the casino closes if they don't meet a quota of people?

2- I read you can get pasta where would I get this and is there a certain time when I can get pasta?

3- Does anybody have the cocktail menu (we are thinking of getting the premium package but like to see the menu first)?

4- I read that the buffet is open 24/7 is this true? If so what types of things does it offer to eat past 11pm? (we stay up late and eat dinner early and like a good snack at night)

5- Does anybody have the main dining room menu's?

6- Does anybody have the room service menu?

7- Is there a meat carving in the buffet daily for lunch time?

8- We love to go to the specialty restaurants, any advice or suggestions on any of these, what do you recommend?

9- My daughter likes a late night pizza do they offer this past 11pm?

10- If we are in the casino at night, is there a place where we can get a cocktail?

11- What is your favorite place to sit and have a cocktail and talk with family?

12- Do they have live bands?

I appreciate any help you can give us thank you.

Knowing that you've not sailed with Celebrity, perhaps a few people will chime in with answers for you. Know that searching for everything could take a lifetime!

I don't frequent the casino, but while passing through several times last month, seemed like very few people were in there but they were still open.

The buffet may be open for drinks (coffee, iced tea etc) all night but I think after 11 or a bit later there really isn't food out. Option late is to order room service for pizza, sandwiches etc (most items are free but they recently added some special items that aren't so watch out! Usually the only $$ involved is a tip.

There's a pasta station in the buffet. You order what you want (kind of pasta, meat, other items like mushrooms, peppers etc) and type of sauce. Terrific grilled vegetables, at least on Constellation last month. There's also a stir-fry station.

Yes, there's a meat carving station at lunch time. Usually beef, pork or chicken.

Yes, they have a live band. They also have a DJ. In addition, at least last month they had two duos which played around the ship, as well as a wonderful bluesy solo singer, and a string quartet. Often you'll find a piano player - seems like nothing is every the same on every ship.

Welcome to Celebrity. Hopefully someone who has recently sailed on Silhouette can fill you in on what they experienced directly on that ship. Enjot.

1- Does anybody know whether the casino closes if they don't meet a quota of people?

Sorry, I don't know, I never gamble.

2- I read you can get pasta where would I get this and is there a certain time when I can get pasta?

There is a pasta station in the buffet with 3-5 different sauces, and 4-6 different pasta noodles. Lots of different add ons as well. (crushed red pepper, grated parmesan etc...) Its open late into the night.

3- Does anybody have the cocktail menu (we are thinking of getting the premium package but like to see the menu first)?

The wonderful bar tenders at a dozen different venues around the ship, will produce just about ANY drink you can think of... and LOTS MORE that you have probably never thought of.

4- I read that the buffet is open 24/7 is this true? If so what types of things does it offer to eat past 11pm? (we stay up late and eat dinner early and like a good snack at night)

NO it is NOT open 24-7 But you can get Pizza and pasta as late as midnight or later.

5- Does anybody have the main dining room menu's?

NO, but the food in the MDR is pretty darn good across the board. The French Onion Soup (always order it with TRIPLE cheese) and lamb chops are GREAT.

6- Does anybody have the room service menu?

Sorry, I never eat in my room.

7- Is there a meat carving in the buffet daily for lunch time?

YES

8- We love to go to the specialty restaurants, any advice or suggestions on any of these, what do you recommend?

I am a recent convert to The Lawn Club Grill, best lamb chops EVER. Qsine is quirky fun with LOTS of great tastes. Murano is the REALLY up scale dining spot, and Tuscan Grille has the BEST views on the ship. Trust me, you will want to TRY THEM ALL.

9- My daughter likes a late night pizza do they offer this past 11pm?

Yup, in the buffet till midnight or later

10- If we are in the casino at night, is there a place where we can get a cocktail?

YUP, there is a bar IN the Casino, with more less than 60 seconds away.

11- What is your favorite place to sit and have a cocktail and talk with family?

If you knew my family you'd understand why I never go on a cruise with them, let alone talk to them over alcohol... :D  :p Would LOVE to do more cruises with my grown children, but families, careers and miles make it a rare event. Enjoy yours.

12- Do they have live bands?

Yes, sometimes several.

I appreciate any help you can give us thank you.

Hang out on the threads for a week or two, and you'll get a pretty good feel for things. Enjoy your cruise!

I can only speak from my experiences on Solstice:

1. Casino seemed to be open other than when we were in port but not sure what time it opened/closed.Was quite busy most evenings after the Show.

2. Pasta was always available in Oceanview at lunch & dinner and I'm sure you could get it on room service anytime.

3. Celebrity have just recently contributed to CC with the latest package inclusions under the heading 'Official Celebrity Beverage Packages'. The Classic Package only covers cocktails priced up to $8 per glass whereas the Premium Package is up to $13.If you are a cocktail drinker then Premium is better by far.

4. Buffet is definitely not open 24/7 but hours were extensive.

5. Main dining room menus apparently change according to cruise location. See Celebrity website for examples.

6. Room service menus are posted on this site but vary between standard rooms & concierge/suites for breakfast with a few added extras for the later. I understand you can also order from the MDR menu.

7. Always meat carving in the buffet at meal times.

8. There are various multi venue packages on the Celebrity website for which there is a saving. I definitely recommend Murano.

9. I expect you could get a pizza by room service after buffet closes but you will never go hungry.

10.Martini Bar & Crush is near the Casino but there is a bar in the casino too.

11. Quite a lot of places to have a family chat - seating in Martini Bar with a cocktail but other bars in other areas, both inside & outside, also have basic cocktails. Coffee in Al Bacio or cold drink at the Lawn Bar (our favourites) are good places for a chat too.

12. They do have live group(s) which performed in various places throughout the ship.(eg pool during the day & central area some evenings).

I hope you will love Celebrity as we did.

My information is from the May 16th sailing of the Solstice. Amazing experience.

1- Does anybody know whether the casino closes if they don't meet a quota of people?

It stayed open during all posted hours. The only exception was poker, had to have enough people rounded up when it was time for a game. The hostess tried hard to make sure that happened.

2- I read you can get pasta where would I get this and is there a certain time when I can get pasta?

available at the buffet until 1am, made to order

3- Does anybody have the cocktail menu (we are thinking of getting the premium package but like to see the menu first)?

Don't have a menu. We heard all the talk about new limits and almost upgraded before our trip. We waited and were perfectly content with the classic package.

4- I read that the buffet is open 24/7 is this true? If so what types of things does it offer to eat past 11pm? (we stay up late and eat dinner early and like a good snack at night)

Buffet closed at 1am. Past 11 mostly pizza and pasta. Plus the free treats from Cafe al Bacio.

5- Does anybody have the main dining room menu's?

sorry

6- Does anybody have the room service menu?

Easy to search the internet for and all my searches were accurate. I wrote in things like "bowl of mixed berries" for breakfast. Always delivered whatever we ordered. We were in concierge class but don't know that it mattered. The chicken skewers are fantastic.

7- Is there a meat carving in the buffet daily for lunch time?

yes and wonderful little sandwiches and treats from 4-5 in the afternoon. But those are roped off to get ready for dinner so you have to be on time.

8- We love to go to the specialty restaurants, any advice or suggestions on any of these, what do you recommend?

Murano was one of the best dining experiences of my life. Food as well as service.

9- My daughter likes a late night pizza do they offer this past 11pm?

Buffet until 1. I loved it, flatbread type with very little sauce and unusual (but not too unusual) toppings.

10- If we are in the casino at night, is there a place where we can get a cocktail?

Right in the casino. Not the friendliest but only steps away.

11- What is your favorite place to sit and have a cocktail and talk with family?

We wandered a lot.

12- Do they have live bands?

Lots of live music

Wonderful ship and crew.

Since a lot of your questions have been answered, I'll chime in with

Favorite specialty restaurant - Qsine followed by murano and Tuscan grille

Place to hang out with a group - area around cellar masters. Or cafe al biaco. We were always able to get a table for 6 and hang out with each other.

FYI, the celebrity discussion board is very different from the rci one in my opinion. Fewer posters and less detail. So yes you may have to do a search for something very specific.

The link for the preismans website has been very helpful to me.

You all been very helpful and truly appreciate it, funny thing I speak about pizza not that any of us want it but it makes a good night late snack on other ships that don't have anything else to eat at that time...we never ordered room service but heard the items available at room service are much better than other cruise lines, was just curious.

Now that I understand the buffet is not open 24 hours and probably till 1am, besides pizza and pasta do they offer anything else?

Does the cafe late at night offer anything besides pastries/goodies? I was hoping to get a salad or some fruit or something else to nibble on, if we have dinner at 6pm I be a bit hungry at midnight. haha

If we do book today, as we tossing up on the Adventure of the Seas southern caribbean out of san juan (but I must try celebrity, its about time) we definitely will try every specialty restaurant available, we feel the dining experience is important when we cruise. I do feel from the research I have been doing on this ship that we will be pleasantly surprised with the wonderful meals offered on this ship. You can see I am definitely leaning on Celebrity. ;)

I went up looking for other things late night at the buffet and didn't find much more. I think there were some rolls and maybe fruit but not consistently. I had our minibar emptied and stored cheese, fruit etc. Made a few late night sandwiches in our room. The cafe was strictly sweets but you can get them to go. They also made their way to our stash for late night eating.
