We are on the Breakaway's current sailing to Bermuda. We have had two gorgeous days in Bermuda. Awesome cruise so far. Food everywhere has been mostly great. The new dinner menus in the main dining rooms are wonderful. The entertainment ( main & lounge musicians) has been absolutely fantastic. Studio cabin great. Service excellent-very nice staff.

Full review in a few days!

On Weds., we got off the ship at 8:20, bought our 3 day transit passes right there at a visitor desk when you exit. (Walked out the driveway/ taxi area, bear to the right to board buses, left for ferries). We grabbed a bus labeled "special" which goes right to Horsehoe beach in about 20-25 minutes. Spent about 3-4 hrs there. Gorgeous! The little cove to the right is amazing. Then walk all the way around the main bay beach and the next few beach coves as you walk about 1/2 mile are also awesome and pretty empty. We then returned to the ship via same bus. Lunch, shower back out on ferry to Hamilton. IMO, nice ferry ride (15-20 minutes) but Hamilyon itself is nothing special. Spent 90 minutes strolling around the shops & headed back.

Today, we took the 9:30am ferry to St George ( line up early - some got turned away because too full). Ride was about 35 minutes. St George was very pretty. European feel. We spent about 2 hrs and then headed to Tibacco Beach ( cab) and then started to head back via bus #10/11 stopping at Shelly Bay Beach. Switched buses in Hamilton to grab the #7 and jumped out to see elbow Beach and Church Bay Beach. Horsehoe was by far the nicest followed by Elbow beach. Don't waste your time at the north shore beaches-nowhere near as nice as the south shore. Tomorrow is back to Horsehoe for a few hrs and walk around Dockyard a bit. Hope that helps!

Will be watching your sail away later today - not to rub it in, but as soon as you leave that's just one roundtrip closer to my cruise ;)

Glad to hear you're having a wonderful time, and especially thanks for the bus/ferry info. I like having knowledge of little details of things like that ahead of time.

As I can see from countdown clocks, the July line up is Robin, then TexDisneyMom... then ME! We all sail the week the other returns. The month of JUNE is going to go soooo slowwwwwly!

Glad it will go slow ;)

More time to plan and anticipate.

VickiD I have never seen anyone on my balcony. Guess they are saving my cabin just for me ;)

Safe Sailing home

Fireworks last week were postponed due to the wind conditions. They didn’t happen on Friday night as scheduled but rather on Saturday night with Celebrity Summit pretty close by! The winds on Friday night were too great and they cancelled it at the last minute.

OP: Glad you’re enjoying your cruise and have a pleasant and safe journey back to New York City! If you happen to see Jovan (craziest dancer out of the cruise staff), tell him I said hello! :D

We have been to Bermuda 3 times and going back on the Breakaway again in Sept. Our must sees are St. Peter's Church in St George's and Gibbs Hill Lighthouse. if its a nice day you can see all of Bermuda from the top of Gibbs Hill. At the base of the lighthouse is a nice little restaurant with really good food

We've passed by that restaurant at Gibbs Hill both times we were in Bermuda. Always wondered if it was good. You're the first person I've come across who's been there. Can't recall the name of it. I would like to hear from others who have been there.

FYI: Bring cash to Bermuda or get money out at the Casino on board. Many places do not take cards(including the two places at dockyard which sell the transit passes) and ATMs are somewhat difficult to locate and dispense Bermudan dollars.
